Re: Misc Parts for Sale

Hey Geoff,

Know anybody that has a right side inner fender and a core support? I am taking the motor out of the Longhorn and have discovered that the best way (for me) is to take the core support out. The area under the battery box is swiss cheese and I don't want to put it back that way.

Yeah it's a '69 Chevy Longhorn...I don't think GMC will work? That whole 4 eyes thing vs. 2 eyes. Let me know if I'm wrong.

Re: Misc Parts for Sale

Another moment I am kicking myself for not discovering this forum earlier... nice deals, and RIGHT UP THE ROAD. I am thinking we need to rally National Parts Depot to start carrying Chevy truck parts so we can save on shipping.
Over the past few years, I also had a '67 Mustang Convertible, and a '69 Firebird Convertible... I got spoiled, because I only had to run down to Charlotte to go parts shopping.

Use a 3/8" gear wrench to get in the tight space, and ratchet the nuts off. You will need to loosen your front fenders from the rear...which also requires you to remove the cowl to access the top bolts to the fenders, and the bottom rear bolt as well, and the inner fender mounting bolt that attaches it to the cab. Let the fender "pop" out a little bit...don't force it, it will stick out naturally on its own. This is needed for some space to access the rear mounting studs on the emblems. I have done it this way on my trucks, and every time I find salvageable emblems in the yards. It is a somewhat time-consuming process Hope this helps.

Geoff,

How musty is the blue carpet? How did it get musty? Was it stored in a pond and then in a basement? Seriously, what do you think it would take to get the smell out? Have you tried?

Re: Misc Parts for Sale

Dwayne....I did some trading and the guy said it was in his basement...maybe it has that musty smell because of where it was stored....I don't see any evidence that it was sitting in water or anything....I thought about 'Febreezing' it to see if that helps any....
maybe I'll google some remedies....you interested in it??

Kinda...I need to look at mine but if I recall, mine is certainly not perfect. I keep seeing yours here though and thinking about it but I am in the middle of an engine rebuild and I keep thinking I need to hang on to the money to make sure I have enough for that.
