Re: show photos of your bench seats

The seat is out of a 1988 Silverado. It sits lower than the stock seat because the bottom cushion slants toward the back, and it has no head rests so it fits below the back glass. It is very comfortable for three across, and the best part is I took it out of a boneyard truck for $28.00.

How hard was it to bolt down, did you make new holes to bolt it down? There was a thread about doing one of these a while back but nobody that was on it did

Before I put in the new carpet, I put in the seat and marked and drilled the four holes from the mounts on the floor. Then I put in the carpet first and pushed an icepick up from under the floor to line up the brackets. I bolted them in with grade 8 bolts. The aircraft style belts bolted into the original seat belt mounting holes.
Real simple install on the cheap.

Thanks.

I think this style is clean and fits the time period of the truck.

I don't know. But I really like the Edelbrock cup holder. Not kidding. I might do this.

Re: show photos of your bench seats

Is it possible to make our stock bench seat fold forward? I moved my gas tank under the bed and now have empty space behind the seat.

The original seat in my 67 does, just spin the two wing nuts off and tilt it forward, and it is an absolute base model, only options on the spid are body color, and painted rear bumper. My 78 doesn't fold though

If you want a seat from a 67-72, shop for a '67 or '68...full foam, fold forward.
Bench seats rock!
I ran stock '68 buddy buckets for a couple years. Slippery, lost every thing between the drivers
seat & buddy, cold, and not too comfy.
I've got a '67 bench
reupholstered in a light grey tweed now. Love 'um! (Sorry no pics).

Re: show photos of your bench seats

Here is mine. According to the build sheet it was a 1968 golden anniversary seat. It folds forward. I had the cover made by a local upholstery guy before EVERY supplier had cheap aftermarket stock looking seat covers available.

My seat is from a 1986 F150 put in by the PO. I like the pattern because it looks like the GMC grille. I have a 69 GMC Custom thats white w/ maroon interior; the seat matches the color pretty good. The seat does fold by the way. I do not know if he used the Ford tracks or the GMC tracks, but it fits nice and its comfortable.
