Re: New Crew Cab Project Truck....
It sucks that you had issues, but glad to see that you are definitely headed in the right direction now. Truck should be pretty killer when you get done.

Re: New Crew Cab Project Truck....
the brake lines were useless, so i replaced them with some stainless braided ones. And going to run new lines to each wheel as well. The fronts on these things are tricky, i had to machine up a new mounting system for them, it works much easier now.
Also a couple shots of the interior, i forgot to post any. This weekend will bring a whole slew of updates, so stay tuned. still waiting on wheels............................ They said 2 more weeks, 2 weeks ago..... yea its like that. |

Re: New Crew Cab Project Truck....
Wrapped up most of the back section. Still need to weld on my shock mounts... behind axle outside of frame off of the 1.5 tube.
I had to move my brake line bracket, i completely over looked my bag placment when i put that on there. Im going to make another bulkhead syle fitting that hangs lower. once my shocks are on, and that brake line is in place, i will blow it all apart and paint it with some spray bomb paint. |

Re: New Crew Cab Project Truck....
Im working on re-doing the wireing from the previous owners install of the 5.3 It was weak. Going to re-route the wires to the other side.
Still dialing in the control arms how i want to do them, apparently they put a rush on my wheels because they are scheduled to ship tuesday of next week now, so hopefully i will have those soon and i can get the front end taken care of. Heres a few pics that i had taken with my cell phone, sorry for the quality. The haggard wire situation, that i get to fix. It all works properly, but i cannot stand butt connectors. I hope this is not how most people take care of their wiring situation on these LS swaps, because this garbage is terrible. Solder, tape, heat shrink... repeat. Rest of the accuair showed up, its bad ass! Frame?: Taylor

Re: New Crew Cab Project Truck....
Well, the under hood wireing is all extended and cleaned up. No more butt connecors to be seen, all solder and tape and shrink wrap. Nearly half of the wires were able to just be pulled apart at the butt connectors, it was awful, I just cant imagine why someone would do an install like that, and half ass it with ****ty butt connectors and crimps.
Im going to work on the wiring inside the cab today. Taylor

Re: New Crew Cab Project Truck....
Looks like it was done by the same school of thought my '79 LT1 truck was. I was lucky enough that they left the mess in plain view, so I knew up front. That truck is going to be brutal when you are done, though.

Re: New Crew Cab Project Truck....
yep, there are speakers in the seats. I am replacing them with some kicker speakers, and running them off the head unit in the truck.

Re: New Crew Cab Project Truck....
That was pretty bad, but I haven't seen any wire nuts yet. Wire nuts are the mark of a true professional.
