Yesterday was a lucky day! My truck was a work truck and did not come with any interior trim or headliner and I have been trying to piece it all together from suburban parts... well while looking for a tailight housing for a buddies 66 short wide I stumble across a 3+3 camper special in the yard with full interior and score everything I need to complete mine for 50 bones! Great find!

Well ****, i didnt even realize that that was you... lol, hell yea man, no hurry whenever your ready is fine with me, i have a new design i think you will like for the uppers.

Re: 89 Crew Cab, Bags, Bodydrop and 24" Billets

The link bars are mocked in place now and my axles are finished @ Moser and should be back to the shop in a couple of days. The new bodymounts are all here from Classic Parts and I got confirmation from Intro that the new, corrected front wheels will be shipped today so I should have them Monday... Now we are moving!

My roof is pretty banged up and I have searched high and low for a new roof skin and they are non existent. I found a used one at a yard yesterday I can have for $250....hmmm

These dents are the size of malnourished crack children Joey, a little more than PDR is capable of. Plus the roof skin is way stretched and makes a ton of noise.. I have had about 5 different accomplished bodymen look at it and they all agree for what I want the new roof is the best option.

Re: 89 Crew Cab, Bags, Bodydrop and 24" Billets

thats how I redid my roof, I scored a roof off a wrecked one and spent the better part of a weekend cutting the outer skin loose.
one thing to watch for is the iner brace thats in the center (right where the screws are in the headliner area at the dome light) make sure yours isnt bent or F,ed up because the skin wants to sag in the center and that brace helps hold the contour of the roof line and also if you dont find a way to attach it to the outer skin you can hear it rattle as you go down the road

Re: 89 Crew Cab, Bags, Bodydrop and 24" Billets

Update: new wheels arrived today from Intro, they were supposed to change the backspacing and re-cut the center bore to actually clear the hub and allow the front wheel to seat and be able to run a center cap. They cut me the same wheels exactly with a larger diameter hub bore and it still wont accept a center cap. All this trouble and it took a week longer than promised and they didn't meet any of the promises they set for me.

Yeah the color scheme is similar to yours and there is a guy in Louisiana building a 72 burn that the colors are flopped on. I have a new idea if two in my head that may end up going on it we will just wait and see.

I got the new front wheels from Intro and a centercap still won't fit so we are having the rotors machined down so the caps will clear and it sucks to have to but oh well. Also having a certain logo machined off a certain part! Haha! Ordered some tires today and we have some more progress for the cab and the four link. Should be starting the front hopefully next week... I can't wait to drive this thing!

Re: 89 Crew Cab, Bags, Bodydrop and 24" Billets

Got a couple of little things done. Painted the raw metal in the cab, slid the narrowed axles in and hung a wheel on the rear to check it out. Got a pic of the front wheel hanging on the rotor... Bag mounts are in place in the frame minus some gussets--pics of that to follow..

Thanx! All the work is being performed by the shop I work for when I am off season of my regular job. Nfamus Air Suspension. www.nfamusairsuspension.com and if you have a facebook add them on there. We post pics of stuff we are working on pretty much daily. We have a reg cab sb c-10 of our customers we built a full chassis for set up on vette front and rear suspension. The owner has a 22/24 Raceline Billet combo going on it and a big block powering it. We also have a 01 RCSB Silvy we did a full tube chassis on, 6.0 LS and it rolls 24" Intro's. Building the floor, firewall and rear cab wall from scratch and it is getting a full Wilwood Brrake kit put on it too!

Re: 89 Crew Cab, Bags, Bodydrop and 24" Billets

The black cab is the 01 truck, the frame is for the 85 c10, the white truck is a 07 Crew Cab Chevy with Escalade Clip that we bagged on 28's. It was featured in Street Trucks last year. We have it back to bodydrop it for the upcoming show season and it will be getting bodymods and paint as well as new wheels after it leaves us. Lastly is a little 66 Shortbed we built with another guy that works at the shop. It is z'd and has a mandrel bent backhalf. It's going to stay all patina'd out and be driven daily as soon as Ol Matt gets all the little odds and ends done to make it roadworthy. Hope you guys enjoy!

Tires just arrived! Should be getting them mounted tomorrow with the help of a good friend!

Kuhmo Ecsta's, 255/30/24 and 305/35/24 respectively. Got a great deal on these things through www.tires-easy.com Low price, fast shipping and good customer service when I had a question and needed to call. They were referred to me by a buddy thats rolling 24's on a bagged ram crew cab.

Re: 89 Crew Cab, Bags, Bodydrop and 24" Billets

Did you have to cut the front fenders to make them fit when the front bags are dropped? I have an 85 C10 with a front drop member from porterbuilt and i have to clearance them. If so can you post pictures of how you did yours? Thanks

We have not even started on the front suspension yet to be honest with you. All we have done up to this point is the front frame horns and the rest of the body drop and rear suspension. When we start the front I will be sure and post pics.

We got away without Z'ing the front clip though and are building new lowers to make sure I lay nice and flat. Plans are also to run 88-98 lower balljoints as well as they get more travel than the 73-87 do.

Also-- TIRES are MOUNTED and BALANCED! I think one wheel took 2.5 oz and that was the absolute worst. The rear tires were a snap to mount but the fronts gave us hell!
