Re: 1962 Impala

Thanks for the nice comments everyone.

So I have a spare rebuilt 327 engine and th350 that I was going to use in my 69 Blazer. But this past year I picked up a 72 Blazer with a 454 and th400. The big block has some A$$ behind it. So using the 327and th350 would be the wrong direction at this point. Seeing how the th350 is set up for a 4x4 that it will never see. I thought I should convert it over to a 2WD version today. Playing in the shop is always more fun than yard work on a hot day.

The four speed bell housing you see in the first pic is something I use when I rebuild automatics. I just pull the tail cone off and tip up the trans with the tail shaft in the big bell housing hole. It holds it up straight so it is easy to drop in all the new goodies. The blue th350 in the first pick is a burnt up donor with a good tail shaft and cone.

Nice work - it's coming right along. Nice looking 69 Camaro too. I've got one also - seems we have parallel tastes in autos.
