Re: yup another 53 chevy

Well your basically cutting the front frame at the cab snd moving it up then u drop your frame horns down it's allot like putting one of those drop members in but without having to spend the 2 thousand to do it lol I'll post some pics of a 73 I did later today

Re: yup another 53 chevy

Z-ing the frame is actually an old trick that was really popular with East Coast rodders years ago.

I'm rather found of the way you chopped that truck as mine is chopped the same way except with a four inch chop. It is a lot more work in the end run but gives the truck a sleeker look in my estimation.

The first truck I did I had put an International pickup back window in it that was similar in width to what you widened that window to. when I chopped it I didn't think about dropping the bottom of the window down rather than shortening it. I like the way you did it.

I like your notch in the back too, and as you said it gives it a lot more of a production truck look.

hey thanks man i def try to make everything look as clean as i can the frame is comming out pretty killer its just allot of work and looking at it now i found some ways ill do it next time to save allot of time ...but yea doing the z on the frame is a old rodder trick i like doing that way it works killer unless you need to change the suspension anyway but on the 67-72s i think its the ideal way

i like the chop on your truck as well these trucks need that look certain trucks you dont want them to look chopped like the 67-72s but i think the older ones need to look like they are for sure

Re: yup another 53 chevy

well the gas tank was a custom built one not sure who did it but i know cary at IF customs can make them as well

the back window is kinda a factory deal lol kinda ....i just made the window frame 12" wider you just have to build your own channel to match the factory stuff but over all it wasnt to bad

Very slick. I love all of the curves of your fab work. It's very pleasing on the eyes.
