cd player in glovebox, my preference in all upgrades is a stock-look with modern performance. Long live the sleeper!

I have a *ahem* 'new' manual choke under my dash, the lighter hole seems to have been filled with some plastic knock-out thing, and the ash tray has some chrome plastic lettering of th PO's initials. I don't want to cut anything on the dash but the radio needs to take a hike, I'm going to try to relocate it either in a center console or in the glove box, it would all depend on the head unit I buy...

I plan to keep mine stock with the exception of the ash tray. I plan to shave that spot. Undecided on the radio situation or not.

Well now you guys made me undecided. I think I'll just wire up a radio and leave it laying in my plastic cupholder on the Hump. You know what else, I'm connecting everything with wire nuts! I have always wanted to cut the face off of my old radio and hinge it, hiding the new radio behind it.

I agree with 71blazer...... I love the stock looks but with modern upgrades, in suspension, drivetrain, etc... This is where the radio debate gets tricky because we all like the appeal of the new modern stuff. Let me ask a question for you guys though, I am from the southeast where we get a lot of the wet stuff and I have a 71 and the cab is actually held together with rust instead of metal.. Heres my dilemma I found a cab in Texas that is perfect, not a spot of rust because of the low annual rainfall in west Texas. This thing looks brand new except for a cut dash for a new style radio. I am thinking that if I buy this cab I could cut the area around the radio out of my old rust pile and install it into the nice pretty cab.

I have a stock A/C and Tach Dash. I have a transfer
switch and old choke knob. I guess that these
would qualify as "Do-dads".
