Re: Medium Red Paint On 72 Trucks

My all original medium red & white, cheyenne. I'm in the process of buffing it all out to see if I am going to leave it with the original patina. I'll post some pics later of what it looks like now. This is what I started with dust and all. Other than the surface rust there is no bad areas in the normal areas where they usually rust out

Re: Medium Red Paint On 72 Trucks

We had an above post about torch red[Vette color] and if I do remember right it is the same mixing formula as the trucks victory red. Oh I know what it is like to have your truck in paint jail, I do to all three of mine plus my 68 lemans convert with the LS1 and I dont even want to remember the elcomino[it is on the back side of the lot, like it is forgotten]. I am the warden at the paint jail. Jim

Original medium red (I know my handle says "Orange Crate" but that was a Schwinn bike in the late 60s)

Here is a picture of a new take off Light Red tailgate. It def. has an orange cast to it. The dark spots are where a coon pooped on it when it was up in the rafters of a shed.

Re: Medium Red Paint On 72 Trucks

This is the color I'm painting my truck, but will probably add a flattening agent in the clear. Not the original color but the color all the my grandpa's dump/lime/grain trucks where growing up.

No problem Steve, I couldn't believe it when I first saw it. I thought to my self, with all of the places a coon could poop why did he have to pick this spot...
