Re: spirit of 76 barn find

What ever happened with this truck and the parts salvaged from it? Attached are two photos, the Spirit of 76 my Dad had back in the day (photo about 1978) and the Spirit of 76 I presently own. I would be interested in buying the interior door "Spirit of 76" badges, if they are surplus to your needs. Regards, Tom

Re: spirit of 76 barn find

It's still sitting in the same place. See it every day. I've got some parts yet. Door panels, badges, visors. PM me an offer, I've always clung pretty tight but have been thinking recently that there is a more proper place for the parts.

Never bothered the owner as I figured that if I did get it, it would never make it onto the trailer in one piece. And then most would blow away on the trip home.

Re: spirit of 76 barn find

Most of the squares around here were built in Janesville, for obvious reasons. It's more neat here to find one built elsewhere. It's a shame to see the plant now.

Re: spirit of 76 barn find

its a cool looking truck ... w/ the vintage photo that was put up

I didn't even know about the body styling on it ( which is kinda unique and rare )

so it seems all the manufacture(s) did a motto for the ' Spirit of 76 ' in one way or another ... which is cool =0)
