Re: consoles
I charged stan $350 for this console. This console was assembled from all undamaged original parts. All the best from the last group I disassembled.the sem color product is fantastic over the regular paint.pics do not do it justice it looks brand new.I have 2 perfect seat belt consoles stripped and ready to paint for myself and zoomin.Had to stop and take the motor off my compressor so I didn't get to paint them today .The black console for $300 shipped is also very nice.It had 2 small 1/8 holes drilled in it that I epoxied and the nick in the lid.you would not know the holes were filled if I didn't tell you.I may change the lid out when I strip some more.I will have to disassemble another batch to get enough parts to do another this nice. You can get with me and reserve the next one but it will probably take a week or better before I get the parts ready.I have to get several things caught up first.

Re: consoles
Nice work, SEM is my choice but some of my black ones I am partial to a dupont but I have done them in both. The dupont has a little more shine than SEM.

Re: consoles
Thanks PT,That means alot to me coming from the console man!You do awsome work!I am trying to meet your quality !I am only getting rid of a couple of each style to spend the funds on nos trim I have been collecting lately.on the average it has taken 3 to 4 consoles to get one perfect one.It takes alot to build a console as nice as yours. This one for stan is the 5th one I have stripped and refinished. It is the first one with all the best parts . Five test runs.If Stan's truck is worthy of this console it is one to drool over.I can't wait for the chrome for mine and zoomins.I have collected for years to have seats and consoles like the pics I posted of Jerry Browns.I am getting ready to start a build thread for a truck worthy of these .

Re: consoles
Thanks a lot for the kind words. It takes a bunch of time to do one of these consoles and when you quote some people a price they act like you are bending them over but they just do not realize the time and effort that goes into one. The toughest thing to come by on these are the trim rings, so many of them are rusted and will not clean up. I had a plating shop that did four for me and charged me 20 bucks a pop and I was in Heaven until I carried him the second batch and he said he was going to have to charge 50 each because of the time it took to buff them and I said no thanks. You cannot make anything off of them with having 50 bucks in just the trim ring. I would love to find another reasonable plating shop. Here is one I just finished for a board member.

Re: consoles
If you find the right plater or if the right plater sees this let me know.I have about a dozen that are nice 5 or 6 more that are still good for a driver and over a dozen more that I would have plated all at once if I could get them done for around $25 to $30 bucks each.I need to get some of the blue sem paint you used on the console on the message board.I have 2 of my personal trucks that have blue buckets that color. The guy local to me that sales sem products said he could mix it for me .can you get a code or formula from the customer who sent you the paint?

Re: consoles
I think he just took a swatch of material that he wanted the paint to match and they mixed it off of the sample. I searched very hard back when I was building a lot of them and did not find anyone that would do it for a descent price.

Do you have any pictures of a brown console? I'm considering a color change on my interior.
