Re: My 67
IF IT WAS MINE: the interior would be left alone maybe new red repo seat covers for the reupohlstery... i would have the stock rims and the hub caps as shone above in my other post, not sure on what i would do with the exterior paint... and the engine would go all nice orange with black air cleaner..... just my two pennies

Re: My 67
Here are some pictures of the rust through that this truck has got. If anyone can kinda guide me as to what necessary replacements would be needed when it comes to replacing these and how much time/difficulty/cost would be involved that would be great. I've taken a basic welding class and that's about it. I don't know if I'm yet ready to tackle some of this stuff so, I'll let you the masses be the judge. Here they are!
Front right floor support (looks fairly good to me) Rear right floor support (Holy moly) Rear left floor support (no bueno) Passenger side kick panel/floor area |

Re: My 67
Well, I did do what I said I would do, which was have the rims powder coated black....but what didn't work was the baby moon caps I ordered....didn't bother to make sure they fit the rims before having them powder coated white, so those will be going into the "for sale" thread...but here are the pics never the less!

Re: My 67
Sweet lil 67!
My 68 had the rust issue right there in the same spot by the kick panel/floor. People will pay big $$ for that speed warning dash! Ya know, since this is a fresh thread and all, I think I might just subscribe (; |

Re: My 67
Called Summit today about the caps, they said they couldn't return them..for obviously reasons, but would extend a 20% off discount towards the purchase of the correct size caps...so I'm pretty pleased with that!

Re: My 67
Good to hear that summit at least helped ya out a little bit.. Not that I would have expected them to take them back but 20% off the new caps is pretty good business practice..

Re: My 67
It's been many moons since I last updated any pics of the truck. With my bad back I am unable to work on it as much as I'd like. We didn't work on it much this summer because my helper was busy with racing season. We also spent a lot of time just putting it back together making sure it got back to running. Looking like the carb may need rebuilt and when I took it into get it aligned they said it looked like my gearbox was shot as well as the rag joint. To me steering feels fine and 100 times better now that it's lowered. I went with a 5 and 5 drop. Rear end seems to sit a little too high but I am not sure what to do with out c-notching the frame which I'm not positive I wanna do. Here's a pic of it recently after I took it home from being aligned.
Next tasks will most likely either be body work/paint and engine. Who knows how long all of that will take. Also check out my peep mirrors! |
