Does anyone else here enjoy their cabin sound?

I did put down a good bit of sound deadener, but it was only because Im running hooker headers, 2 and 1/2 inch pipe, and dual borola mufflers mounted under the cab and them dumping out about 10 inches behind the rear of the cab. Once I put the wheel tubs in and the notch cover and sprayed the bed with Al's liner, it actually quieted down a little. The interior of the cab has a coat of bedliner, some peel n seal, and a layer of jute padding under custom carpet.

I can tell you though, i have NO PROBLEM hearing those duals sound off when I hit the go pedal, but cruising along I can roll the windows down and still hear the radio if I want and hear the rumble of the exhaust as well. Its great for cruising around town, but long trips it can be a little bit much. I just took a trip down to Tunica this past weekend, and I can tell you that on a 5 hour drive it is still music to your ears and do make time fly by, but I was ready to just sit somewhere quiet for a little bit once I got there. The sound wasnt annoying, but it was tiring on a long drive. Guess its a good thing most of my trips are not 5 or 6 hours all the time I will keep my mean sounding exhaust and just deal with the 2 or 3 real long trips I take to shows in the summer.

I had long Cherry Bombs on my '79 square body, and the sound was too poppy and pingy for me. On my '72 Cutlass S (455ci) I ran dual 2.5" through FlowMaster Mufflers, and Ooohhh. What a sound. Drop it into 1st at 25-30mph and floor it, the sound alone is worth the cost of a fill up. FlowMaster and MagnaFlow have a nice classic tone.

PS - Nothing is better than cruising through a tunnel or under an over pass. "booming serenity" for lack of a better term.

It's like riding a Harley without the bugs in your teeth. My wife likes the way my clothes has the cab fumes from the gas tank behind the seat. The smell, feel, and sound only people that really love the old rides can appreciate.

I love my 3 layers of sound deadning and hate my glass packs...lol

Easily one of the best things I have done to my trucks that has made it more enjoyable. My truck gets driven long distances fro fun/shows and it sucks when your ears ring for a week after a 500+ mile round trip

I've driven my truck from Maryland to The Grand Canyon and back and never gave cabin noise a thought. We went from Taos,NM to Pagosa Springs,CO to Mesa Verde,4 corners,Lake Powell,North Rim,Sedona,Petrified Forest...all over. The truck was a Cheyenne that was unrestored and 18 years old at the time.
I've never had trouble hearing the stereos or talking,either. I see nothing wrong with adding sound deadener,but it just never crossed my mind as any real issue.
