Re: Stickers Anyone?

I have a tiny little moon eyes logo in the lower corner of the back glass...maybe 1/2" x 1/2"...speaking of tacky additions, thank goodness the truck nuts craze came and went.

Re: Stickers Anyone?

I love reading funny stickers and sometimes even buy them, but I dont like the look of a sticker covered back window. So I've got stickers that arent on anything yet. I've been saving my favorite one for quite some time, it's probably going on my 82, it says simply "I used to be cool".
All the gimme stickers that come in the box with the parts I buy go on my toolbox. Just got some Thrush woodpecker stickers but didn't feel the need to put them on the truck.

I did actually just attach a sticker to the 82, somebody as a joke put a "pig" sticker in my back window, it came from one of those environmental cleanup companies, they use things called a pig in hazmat spills. Anyway, someone thought it was funny in my truck window for obvious reasons. So, I cut out the letters and attached it to the inside of my gas door, that way there can be no mistake when someone sees my truck in it's natural habitat, at a gas station.

Re: Stickers Anyone?

Personally, I like stickers, but only cool ones, and only to a certain extent. I've got several on my back window, a couple on my side and wing windows, and one on my windshield. The one on my windshield I had custom made. It's the nickname I've had since I was little, and I love how it looks on my truck

I had one on my 74 olds 442 on the drivers side rear window shaped like a thought balloon in the comics that said "I'm not getting bald, just more head!!!"

Re: Stickers Anyone?

My current project will get a Gator logo on the back glass with "Gator Squared" in script underneath it. It should be a conversation starter about ********** trucks. That is all that will go on that vehicle.

If I put stickers on anythin else, it would not be truck related. I might have a Fender guitar or Stihl chainsaw sticker.

Re: Stickers Anyone?

On my old 97 I had stickers on the side and back windows. On any truck, that is the only place I'd put stickers.

One on the side said, "My lugnuts require more torque than your rice rocket makes"

Had on the back window, "Ditch the ***** let's go racing" (racing should have been muddin', but had a alum. headed 468 in my 78 Malibu at the time)

Had on my old Blazer, "It's a full size thing, Jeeps wouldn't understand"

And, once I get my crew cab built, this won't be a sticker, but painted on the tailgate, "Built, not Bought".

Re: Stickers Anyone?

I actually have a couple stickers already...

On my '62, I have a small yellow bowtie in the top center of the back glass, then on the bottom center, there's one that says "Chicanobuilt"...

On the '73, I have a "Chevy Only" sticker on one side of the back window and "Camino Oscuro" on the other... The name of the band I play in.

Re: Stickers Anyone?

I don't like stickers for the most part, especially the typical summit, jegs, edelbrock etc plastered everywhere, but a few tastefully placed decals are fine with me. I have my "NC STATE School of Engineering" decals on pretty much everything I own at the top of the rear window.

My 78 has a "Thin Red Line" decal to pay tribute to the trucks firefighter heritage and fallen firefighter brothers :patriot:, while the "NRA" sticker is actually there as a joke in the FD, so I left it. Back in the 80s we actually had "that call" a cat stuck in a barn silo, so one of the guys wound up climbing up and bringing it down. Later, one of the guys stuck a single shot 20ga in a gun rack in the back window, and said "next time just use this" the shotgun was eventually removed, so the sticker was added in it's place.

Re: Stickers Anyone?

Back in the early 1991 i drove to Fla
we went looking for tacky/funny touristy stickers
covered the back of the car(81 leMans)
i'll see if i can find a pic.....
but the 78 jimmy had a cherry bomb sticker i took off the dash
after people asked are those legal......i don't need any body lookin down there
now it's Senators (hockey) here and there
and a lonely bumper sticker for the local rock station
they were recently bought by virgin and the suddenly changed the name
didn't go over to well they changed the name back to the bear....and i found an old sticker
the paw prints at one time were all over my 79 camero hood roof trunk.cause my dog would walk all over the car,and sleep on the hood

the 88 burb had a couple ,radio station,troops support,even a reflective canadian flag......SMUCK didn't help

Re: Stickers Anyone?

I do have a couple on my truck. last years state inspection, old NRA sticker in the back window, and an old small dump permit sticker on my front bumper.

I bought my heads off of a guy and he recognized my truck by the stickers. He had done some work on it about 10 yrs ago (when it had a pickup bed still)

Re: Stickers Anyone?

Not much into red neck decal thing but I had to add some flare to advertise the 8.1L on the fenders just for the fun of it. That decal alone is quite the conversation piece everywhere I take the truck as everybody wants to see under the hood. The Phoenix camper has small gecko and desert theme tattoo, which looks quite appropriate on it. Still have my college parking pass sticker in the rear window even though I graduated 14 years ago. Memento from the good ole bad days I guess.
