Unreal, I totally missed this thread. Absolutely LOVE the Suburban! Another inch in the front, and I wouldn't touch it any more. Wish I had a Burb like this...really wish.

Truck looks killer man just like it is. I have been thinking about my next project and need the extra space too. I have a 5yo that loves cruises and car shows then we just had twins born. Iv'e been thinking about a 72 Cutlass wagon that I have but a 73-80 Burban has been really growing on me. The fact that I just found yours is not helping me. Its 95% exactly what I want down to the planned LSx swap.

How does it ride and did the front come down any more? Who's parts did you use? What shocks? Anything you would do different?

Well first ill give a little update. I the front never really settled and anylower in the front and it would not be fun to drive daily. So i ordered the ride tech Air over leaf setup to raise the rear an inch it should look alittle better.

Also the stock A/C compressor went out so i went ahead and started the serpintine setup. well as i was removing all the emission equipment it became obvious that i would need to remove the exhaust manifolds. so i ordered the headers and will be doing a 3" exhaust all the way to the back.

fairly well, shock extenders are a must. The front didnt come down anymore so i went with an aol setup. I used djm rear flip kit and summit 2.5 spindles and chopped 1 ring out of the stock spring. Only thing id do different is go with a full airbag setup. but for a static drop im happy with what i got.

When you say you wouldn't drive daily is it because of the rear bottoming out?
Would a frame notch fix that?

that may be worth doing if you will be driving it with your family( they may complain about the rough ride), especially if your towing something.

just wondering, are you gonna leave the roof rack on?

The back is not an issue just raising it to make it look better. Its lowering the front which would bottom out bad at any little bump that would make it not for to drive daily.

Naw i like the look of the roof rack. If i would get rid of anything it will be the key locks and the dumbo mirros.

Yeh the dumbo mirrors are kinda ugly... are you gonna leave the exhaust as is? cutting it off shorter so you could,nt see as much of it would be cool

I can see it now..... The proud new poppa driving his kids & pretty wife to the grocery store (gotta get those kiddy necessaties & read the latest car magazines). Their little dog along for the ride too, peeping her head out the window to catch some air. No worries about where to put those diapers x diapers....there's plenty of room in the back!

Here are some progress pics:

The progress under the hood is almost done. I did the serp setup from a 1994 small block and used the kwik brackets to adapt it to the big block.straight forward and i like the stock look.



I ran the schrader valve out back by the licence plate for ease of adjustment. I used one per bag and it allowed for independent adjustment.



Here is the actual bags and brackets. they turned out good. they were really nice quality.

I just ordered the Kwik brackets this week for my dually. I already have a sbc serp set-up sitting on the shelf & since I've been trying to clean up the underhood, the investment is worth it vs. trying to piece together a bbc serp set-up.

Did you use their crank pulley adapter as well or order the correct bbc part?

No i didnt use thier crank adapter i went with an underdrive pulley off ebay. but if that doesnt work i will probably switch. The GM replacement pulley was like 300 bucks.
