Auto Custom Carpet is where I got mine. They have a variety of colors too. It also comes with a piece of insulation that goes over the trans tunnel and floor boards. When the insulation gets wet it is going to rot your floor so I still recommend doing some kind of liner on the floor boards even if it is a cheap roll on bed liner from Wal-Mart. Now that it is warm is the time to install one of these mats. They are a mofo to install when it is cold outside!

then i would think a coat of rust paint,it would seal cracks and do some rust protection

Re: rhino liner on floor?

woodwright - IMHO you can't beat Huskyliners since they have the raised lip to capture dirt and liquids. Add some Walmart treadmill mat over the hump and under the exposed areas of the seat and you are done for less than $100. If you need new carpet you can put that in first, or just go with what you have since you will be covering it all up anyway. I have had the factory vinyl mat, rhino liner, carpet and floor mats, and new carpet with Huskyliners and Walmart mat and that last option was the best.
I thought rhino liner would be nice since I could hose it out, but in reality you would never want to do that anyway because you would not want puddles of water on your floor which would develop in the corners, under the seat, etc.
While you are at it, install a custom made behind the seat storage box for your woodworking tools.

Re: rhino liner on floor?

so why would multiple layers of rhino liner be aa bad idea if you were doing it yourself? Would that give you the insulation and also be durable. Im just trying to stay away from carpet and having to pay somebody to do it for me. What you think?

Re: rhino liner on floor?

I see allot of mentioning of heat and noise, why not try lizardskin coatings?
ceramic insulation and sound control both can be applied.
dont know if they have any similarities to rhino, but just a thought.

I was going to comeback and suggest contacting lizard skin to see what they had to say about using a bed liner product over top of the lizard skin. It seems to me that using lizard skin only would be even less durable than the bed liner material that others have said tends to wear and get smooth.

yup, in my 72 chevelle, and the insides and out sides of the wheel wells on my 71 gmc...

there are no cons in doing this, except use the roll on kind, its alot tougher, quicker and contains larger chunks of rubber material.... I bought it from autozone back in the day for 99 bucks before tax, came with rollers n scotch pads....

I love the stuff, i plan to line every morphis of my truck... imma do the inners of all fenders, fender wells, under the cab, inside the cab, the bed (duh).... everything where rust may become and issue.....

great protect-ant and great sound reflect-ant... way better than lizard skin if u ask me, plus u dont have to mess with all the things u normally have to do when u spray it, (tape off, mask, tent, exc exc..)

((this is done with walmarts truck bed coating)))

Weathertech makes excellent floor mats for trucks that compliment the rhino bedliner because they have custom fitting ones which can cover the whole bottom area so it's like having two layers. On the liner, I've had a friend who has rhino bedliners installed and I have to say that you wouldn't want to ride the truck during summer because it can get pretty toasty inside despite the floor mat (especially during summer). I forget what brand he uses for the floor mat though.

Hope this helps!
