Re: Honey, the brakes making a funny noise... ill fix it later..

It's not the C-10s that are a problem... it's the 20s and up with the floating axles.

this is one time when it's acceptable to spell brakes/brakes.

A tired warrior of the 1980s in a world of low profile tires, front wheel drive, and plastic bumpers, where people stay in their houses until snowplows move the offending substance from their paths, too helpless to travel without AAA and chains and salt, clearing their windows with longhandled brushes while gently stepping around in the snow trying to stay nice and dry.

This one is a k10, ive done brakes on them (properly with new rotors) its a pain in the ass compared to a typical brake job. You do need special tools and to remove lockouts and bearings.

Only in a perfect world
with a 72 C10 you still have to remove bearings and seal, then repack and replace seal. now if you had say, a 98 Lesabre, it would be a different story.

try doing them on a 92 Accord. hehehe

That is why "turnning the rotors in place" was developed in the '80's. The old machines were just nasty! You had to breathe all the metal/pad gindings. YUK! Now they have hoods and vacuum setups that make it better.
