Re: Lets see your rare NOS Parts...

I don't have pics, but I have a set of NOS 67-68 aluminum grill hoops,NOS 67-68 core support, and a NOS right rear 68-72 stepside fender. Back in the late 80's I bought a NOS 67 rear cab panel for about $220 from the local dealer. He said 11 more were available! Wish I knew then what I know now, and had a little more money! Cool thread.

Re: Lets see your rare NOS Parts...

This isn't a part but it is NOS 1970 related. I am going to display it in the truck cab when I am at meets. The truck picture on the side is also a dark green like the Circuit Rider.

I have one of these. Power brake booster grommet, GM#3759198. Good luck finding one if you need it. Only NOS part I've ever owned

Since this thread has a lot of NOS experts, I'm curious if anyone has ever owned, seen, or heard of a NOS cab? There had to be a few sitting in a warehouse at some time.

I have never seen one personally but there is a part # in my GM parts catolog. If I recall they included the doors. I have always wondered about a NOS bed floor?

Re: Lets see your rare NOS Parts...

Now this is my kind of thread!! Here is some of my "junk". The "30" emblems are very rare, and so are Vent windows. The grey 1/2 ton hub cap is also pretty rare, early 69 only. And we all know the 3/4 ton 4x4 hub caps are tough to find, as are the lock outs. Digging through my stuff makes me realize just how much stuff is stashed away!!

Re: Lets see your rare NOS Parts...

I put my NOS 67-68 grill hoops, headlight bezel, and door sills on my truck where they belong. I have a couple of window crank/door handle "echelons" somewhere too. Probably not that rare of stuff.

Re: Lets see your rare NOS Parts...

I'll take a picture of a roll of the original woodgrain I just picked up soon. Other than that, most of my other NOS stuff isn't any more rare than typical NOS...lenses, mirrors, a/c controller, a driver's side 72 door, etc...

...most were bought to use on a project...

...but some I have bought to re-sell because....

a) they were for sale cheaper than market value
b) I could never buy/build a truck without extra funds---my budget doesn't allow it....buying/selling parts is a way I generate extra funds
c) people have a hard time finding NOS...I like to get as much NOS as I can so I can be a one-stop-shop for those w/out either the time or inclination to spend the time to look I spend a lot of time looking for parts I NEED....and sometimes I run across deals while searching so I pick them up.

-case in point:
I now have a complete set of NOS lenses for the exterior of a 72 pickup with deluxe markers and cargo lamp. (Including almost new T3 bulbs for the headlights) Got them for my 72 super build. I don't have the time/funds to finish it now and I might sell them. I bought the lenses from 6 different places and sellers over 5 months....now one person can buy a complete set from me....if they pay me market value for everything-which will help pay me back for the time I spent searching....

Joe, Buddy, Have you thought about including me in your will? If I can be included in your will, I thought we may want to schedule some Buddy time like Oh, hunting, sky-diving (I'll pack your shoot). What do you think?

is the new NOS stuff(the stuff still available at GM) the same as the "old"nos except for the packaging. Are the new parts considered "NOS"?

technically not, but it's almost always sold that way. Especially the parts are still available....to me that's just New GM parts. But on ebay, people sell them as NOS (including me once unwittingly (didn't know you could still get them when I sold it))

Once a part is discontinued by GM, i call it NOS. Even some parts made as recently as 2008 I consider NOS since if can't get it any more...
