Re: Very nice Tach Dash!
Jonathan, Are your tach consoles tested and what kind of guarantee are you providing?

The biggest thing is making sure you have a good ground for your dash. And then properly hooking up the power and signal portion of the tach. I always ground my tach separately also although the factory didn't....I just would rather be safer than sorry...

Re: Very nice Tach Dash!
Hey! Wondering how much a 67 w/choke, no tach, and white face gauges would cost me?

Re: Very nice Tach Dash!
There are actually tachs for the 6 which are pretty rare. All of my tachs are 8cyl right now. If you want I can keep an eye out for you for a tach that would work.

Re: Very nice Tach Dash!
If it's not too much trouble. I wouldn't even know where to start. I'm using a Sunpro one right now, mounted to the steering column with a hose clamp!

I am trying to work out a way to do the lettering in black. I don't like them with the factory green letters...

Re: Very nice Tach Dash!
Have you seen the kits on Ebay? They're nice. He has the black lettering kits. I'll probably get my stuff from them. Just do a search on 67 chevy truck gauges. Hope that helps!

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1967-...item19c76ecfd4 My problem with this is the lettering on the lense.... I'm referring to one that looks like this that the guy actually had letters custom made but he applies them to the inner tin (and won't sell them to me since he's selling these complete on ebay :

Some have installed a signal filter on the wire from the HEI to the tach, but I know many on here who have had a factory tach hooked up to HEI for years with no issues...

Re: Very nice Tach Dash!
Jonathon,
Just an FYI. the direct website for the gauge overlays is: http://www.whitegauges.net/ The gauge overlays come in a variety of colors, (only the white ones are $20) It is a challenge to find a white spray paint for the inner tin that matches exactly without having a custom mix. Note of caution is if you get the black overlays the lettering is bright white and not the factory "off green" I did email them and they said that they could have the correct green manufactured. The lens kit ($50) comes as a new piece of blank plexiglass and vinyl overlays that covers the entire lens, I am not overly fond of it as you can see it if you look closely, sort of a "mottled" look instead of very clear. The kit does comes with most gauge lens overlays with the exception of an "air pressure" |
