Looks sweet, I also have a 65 very similar. What is that bar on the floor with the small handle on it?

Re: my 1965 C10

i got this idea from Jocko. as most of you know seat belts were not standard until 1966. but before then they were an option. i really wanted retractable seat belts but still keep the factory look. so this is what i did today.

note: where i drilled the anchor holes there was a small circular divot on each side of the cab. I'm assuming it is a drill point mark for the installer back in the day for the customer that paid for the optional seat belts.

So, are the LEDs as bright as you had hoped? What exact LED bulb did you use and does it fit into the factory socket? I plan to keep my factory bulbs but might switch to LED later. Your comments will help me decide.

When I restored my instrument cluster, I lined the cardboard tube with silver foil tape. This increases the brightness. It will work for factory bulbs or LED too. You can see the same photos in the Tips and Tricks section of my website.

Re: my 1965 C10

i bought the L.E.D.`s off eBay and they are a direct replacment. it was easy. they are slightly brighter when installed and much whiter than incandescent bulbs.

Re: my 1965 C10

Jim,

Is that stock patterned material on your seat? It looks very similar to my 2011 F-150 at work.

Thanks,
Brian

Re: my 1965 C10

found a polished aluminum grille. i took this opportunity to paint behind the grille the correct looking satin black pattern. first cleaned it up some then taped it off. i used semi gloss as a base coat then satin black as a top coat. really has the right sheen when i do it this way. right after paint pull the tape. you don't want to wait until its dry or it could pull some of the new color off. i sanded off the paint in the six bolt locations for the grille so the headlights would have a good ground.
