Re: Would you buy this truck for 1000?

Judd, I thought I saw that last weekend when heading to the cities. I was in a hurry and didn't stop to look. Can't remember where I saw it though, is it somewhere on 212, or maybe 19? I took the long way there and back, lots of roads I haven't taken so I have no idea where it was. Could have been a different truck too.

Re: Would you buy this truck for 1000?

No way... not without an engine. Maybe $500. I paid $1,000 for my 1972 GMC with a good running 350 and new TH350 tranny.

Its not on a major road like those so you probably didn't see it. If I pass and your interested, send me a PM if you want and I can get you more info on the truck.

Re: Would you buy this truck for 1000?

Solid trucks are hard to find around here. That's a $500 truck with no motor. If you leave the work for the buyer, the money goes in his favor.

Seller:"This truck is worth $2,500 in running condition"

Buyer:"Then,put a motor in it,get it running,and I'll give you $2,500"

No interest at all from me. Wish I would have stopped for the one I did see but not to buy just to look.

Re: Would you buy this truck for 1000?

Called him last night and he changed his mind to sell. He said he is going to drop a motor in and sell for 3x the money.

Re: Would you buy this truck for 1000?

Just goes to show you that "location....location......location" is super important. I'm not a fan of buying non-running stuff because you don't know if the syncros are shot in the tranny, the rear end howls like a coyote....etc. Maybe the engine was the only thing worth keeping! I guess I take for granted that I live in the rust-free belt. That is a $600-$700 truck WITH A MOTOR where I live.

Re: Would you buy this truck for 1000?

Tool box door had some rust and needed some work.

Re: Would you buy this truck for 1000?

You could part it for some good money in your area. Keep an eye on it in case he does not end up dropping a driveline in it.
