Re: How Anal Retentive are you about your truck?
Quote:
Oil was leaking from my pump casing. When I was removing the pump, I grabbed the fan to test the water pump bearings. They were loose. With the water pump off I decided to seal up my timing chain cover. To take the cover off you have to remove the pan (as we all know) so I decided to check a rod bearing. They were almost to the copper. So I decided to remove the 'ole Tall Deck 427. I decided to list it on Craig's list (I don't really Know why) It sold for a good sum of money so I decided to build a 383. Since I put a SBC in, I needed new flowmasters. With the motor out I decided to install a 700R4. With the transmission out, I decided to rebuild the transfer case. With the drive lines out I noticed the front one was loose. New drive lines. With the truck down I decided to do a brake job. With the axles out, my truck got 4 inches higher. |

Re: How Anal Retentive are you about your truck?
I am, I have the disease.
I go to bed thinking about my next "to do" item for whatever project I'm currently working on. I clean the S&^% outta that old truck/full interior details are a regular occurrence. Things that are worn beyond repair get replaced, creaks/rattles are found and stopped. Minor pieces are painted/refurbished but never over the top, all changes are very subtle and very detailed. I believe these are the necessary steps to set your vehicle apart. |

I can live with a couple drops of oil under my truck, but exhaust leaks drive me nuts!
