Re: "Back in Black" interior overhaul

A little bit of progress today, new shoulder harness seat belts arrived but need some slight alterations to work they do look great.

I cleaned up the inside portions of the doors they needed some attention so a little prep and rattle can to clean them up then on to instal a door panel.

It was a bit challenging a took some trial an error but finally got the passenger side panel on an it looks well you are gonna have to wait to see the pics from Sammy!

Re: "Back in Black" interior overhaul

The shoulder 3 Pt seat belts mentioned previously came today. I promised a report on the quality etc on them. They are nice looking belts. However they are not a direct replacement for our belts without some minor modifications. First off in order to use them with your current seat belt bolts..they would need to have the holes enlarged to fit stock bolts. The cab high bolts for the shoulder fit fine it is just the floor stock bolts. However the belts do come with the new bolts but no nuts. Another thing is Firedog called tech support on was the take up reels were locked up. Easily fixed remove a cover and unlocking the belts by raising the web belt gate bar. So basicly other than a mounting floor bolt to overcome they are a very attractive cheaper black shoulder belt (less than $90). Once he figures his next step pics will follow at a later date.

Re: "Back in Black" interior overhaul

Thanks for the comments regarding the panels. A local guy who specializes in "OLD SCHOOL" type work done these. I made a request sat with him and he designed what we talked about. These fit the entire door all the way to the bottom. Sorta talked about making the very bottom a pocket, which he could have done. But I was leaning towards a hard type pocket rather than just a bag sorta thing across the bottom. Since then I talked with him about making two sets to take to "KCALLTRUCKNATIONALS" in Sept. He is a out of work Chrysler worker who has been doing this part time for a number of years. He does one of the best jobs around on headliners. Folks come from Iowa, Arkansas and Texas to have him do Old School stuff. His prices are what I consider reasonable and he never sits on a job. He won't take another job order until he finishes the one he is doing. I like that, nothing sitting in his shop for a week unless he is still on it. He done the BB's, Door Panels in about 4 days. And he custom made the covers. I had a BB set that's in my GMC another guy done locally with me providing new foam, and the new covers it took him almost two months. And he was twice the coin.

Re: "Back in Black" interior overhaul

Wow this post never got updated, the before mentioned 3 point shoulder seat belts are not working out, they wont recoil, they get to a certain point and will not engage to recoil, very disappointing, however happy with the cheap sound proofing will be willing to do it again, ordered some after market billet style handles just no pics to prove it at moment.
