Re: Rarest 67-72 Trucks

There is rarest by model production numbers and rarest by the finalproduct...a particular model with particular options. Like Josh said, there's the loaded SWB BBC Cheyenne Supers as well as the other loaded top of the line SWBs with biggest motor in a given year,as well as the K/10 model. Then, there are the loaded top of the line K/20s,which are just as desirable to 4wds guys. Any model loaded is more rare and desirable. Then, there are unusually ordered trucks that are hard to find another to compare. I had a '72 K/20 Highland Custom Camper with about every option and a 4spd. I also had a '72 K/10 SWB Custom Fleetside with 292/4spd,a/c,tilt,tach,posi,hooks,wide wheels, wood bed,and more. Then, there was the '69 K/10 CST Custom Camper with auxiliary rear tank, hooks, pinstripe, wood floor, buckets, tach, tilt, wide wheels,a/c,and more. I have never seen other trucks similar to these. A Cheyenne Super Stepside or C/30 is rare. There are lower trim level trucks that have rare combinations of options. It would be really hard to say which truck is the rarest when they could be ordered so many ways. How about a '69 C/30 CST with the 11,000# option? That's the medium duty set-up under a loaded one ton.I have seen one of these.

I wish so bad I would have saved the pictures of this.

On MT craigslist about a year ago there was a K3500 longhorn. It had factory: criuse, a/c, tilt, cab lights, PS,PB, 402 BB, posi rear end.

It had a Dana 60 front and a 700R4. Two tone green and white.

I called on it the next day. It was sold.

I bet nobody can guess how much they wanted for it.

Go ahead, take a guess.

Some of the sticker package trucks\blazers are rare. I've only seen the "feathers" edition up close.

good point on the 50th's but judging by production numbers overall, a 5oth 4x4 or longhorn would be even more rare. unless your talking about the 1 ton 9ft stepside, that would also be quite rare I'd guess.

I always thought the 9ft steppers were really rare.

Good point ... This is the only 50th Stepside that I have ever seen or heard about. A board member bought this a couple years ago..

I had a pretty rare one a 67 gmc 1/2 ton 2wd LWB with a AT, 351 V6, turbo 400, AC, PS, PB, speed warning, and buddy buckets. It was all original, I tried selling it but no one would buy so I parted it out

Not that cheap but at $9,000 OBO, it was a steal. It had new paint to. I am still sick about not calling immediately when I saw it.

http://outintheshop.com/prodnum.html

Not 100% coverage, but most of the models are there.

My CST K10 SWB step is one of 1698 total K10 SWB steps made in '69. Mine was a custom order and is early production (Dec '68 driveline codes) - so it may be the only one just like it. Who is to say?

I for one have no intention of ever selling my truck, so I don't really care about it's being rare or not - it's mine and it's what I wanted!

Here is a truck I wanted bad, but did not want to spend the money that they wanted for it. It was a rare truck because of the options on a 1 ton. It is a cst/30 9 foot stepside. It was a nice truck. Here is a pic of the spid:

This ultra rare beauty is like the loch ness monster of 67-72s!

Seems like those early long bed steppers are getting rarer, course that could be because everyone just cuts em up or parts em out....
