Re: Disc Brake 1966 Front End Question....

wow.. crazy coincidence.. !!
on my way home this afternoon from a vintage country radio show i do every saturday.. i kept smelling the smell of gas the whole way.. pulled into a gas station just to take a look and the Hose between my fuel line and the fuel pump sprung a leak and was squirting onto the headers..
luckily i got it home, cut the hose (the part with the hole..) stuck it back on and clamped it with vice grips..
rode my bike up to auto zone, got a new hose & all is good.. except my driveway had a puddle of gas evaporating in the florida sun..

good idea, i'll just get new hose and eliminate the gas filter. the filter looks dark anyway..
i'm thinkin' if the other hose leaked, this one will eventually as well.

Re: Disc Brake 1966 Front End Question....

I would recomend installing a metal fuel filter......you need to have a fuel filter. Also I would work on replacing as much of the rubber fuel hose with a metal line, as possible.

Re: Disc Brake 1966 Front End Question....

yeah it's a metal line from the tank to the engine compartment. then rubber to the fuel pump.. then rubber to the carb. the previous owner said the gas tank was removed and cleaned out.. but yeah i'm getting the metal filter asap.. don't want anohter day like yesterday.

also the Citgo station down the street sells No Ethanol gas, (marine gas), i've been running that in her. it's about 4.14/gallon
