Re: Project- high dollar low budget build
A bad update on the pickup, you can see in the pictures that there is quite a difference in the body panels in the clear coat. We are in the process of taking it all down to shoot it over! There was a bad batch of clear that we got that made some of the truck a dead flat instead of the eggshell sheen we wanted. So the truck is set back a while

Re: Project- high dollar low budget build
What tone of gray is that? I like it my truck is going to be charcoal grey with a smoked gray roof kinda like what you have.

Re: Project- high dollar low budget build
Sorry to hear about the paint job. You're truck is looking great. Body looks really straight.
As mentioned earlier in this thread, I have concerns about the srength of your frame notch. I'd hate to hear about that thing collapsing and hurting your truck or even worse, somebody. Seems like during the re-paint would be a good time to beef that up a bit. It would only cost you about 50 bucks in materials and half a day of your time. That's cheap insurance. |

Re: Project- high dollar low budget build
That sucks on the paint I have been in a similar situation on a motorcycle I did... and agreed that c-notch design is very weak structurally, however if your NEVER going to haul anything more than a couple of lawn chairs and a California Car Duster or tow anything at all, I wouldnt worry to much, but if you are I would definitely recommend beefing it up a little.

Re: Project- high dollar low budget build
At first I was thinking the purple wouldn't look right, but after looking back at it a few times I like it. It's a nice contrast to the teal and grey.

Re: Project- high dollar low budget build
Got the grill back on, lights in and hooked up, and the hood latch back on, and i was amazed to see how good the truck started to look again
Hoping to get the front roll pan bolted back on tomorrow night. Getting a lot closer to being able to drive it again, just have to finish out the headlight bezels and tailgate |
