Re: eBay: $125K 67 C10
There is much about this truck I don't like, and certainly wouldn't do even if I had the money. Still, there's no denying it is impressive.
I'm glad he did it, because none of us would even be able to see it (or the pix) if he didn't. I can appreciate the hours, work and creativity put into this truck without having a desire to ever own such a thing. The thing I am most pleased about though, is that it his time and money on the line, and not mine! |

Re: eBay: $125K 67 C10
I think the chassis is flat out a work of art. Imagine how many man hours went into that part alone. and it gets covered up with the body. Everything on it's custom. I bet the owner/builder is losing money if he sells for $125K I'm not saying it's justifiable, most guys lose money when they build their own truck and decide to sell.
Take a look at THIS BTW, Just ask Superflysteiny how much it cost to build a truck of this quality/custom level.

I hope he gets it.
If he had spent that money/time/effort on a Gen I Vette or Camaro that would be cheap.

Re: eBay: $125K 67 C10
Well, all I have to say is I wished I could build a truck like that. The price doesn't matter to me it's one of our trucks and it's a nice truck. The craftsmanship is nice and for the owner it's his truck not mine to say what it is are isn't.
I like all these year trucks, they all are great to look at and get inspration for our own trucks! My hats off to the owner for building it!

Re: eBay: $125K 67 C10
There are builds at all levels.
Here are two vehicles that I personally know the owners and witnessed as they were built. the 72 SS is my best friends car and the 69 rs is my brother in laws car. Both cars cost over 75k to build. the 72 was built in my friends garage except for the paint and body which was done by another friend of his that owns a body shop the 69 was built by a shop here locally named "miranda built" I have read some of the comments in this thread and I hardly doubt that you can build vehicles at this level for less money. At the end of the day we all have likes in common and we agree to disagree some times also but the fact remains that all three of these vehicles the red truck and the two camaros are works of art.

Re: eBay: $125K 67 C10
It's a neat looking truck but again I wouldn't give 10 cents for a truck that has been cut to pieces and dropped. Once you start turning these trucks into Frankensteins they are worthless in my opinion.

Re: eBay: $125K 67 C10
What?? Where the heck do you live? LOL
You need to realize the type of person that wants and can afford a truck like that. It immediately rules out 95% of all truck lovers.....if not more. Someone is going to have to fall in love with it. At that point, whether it's 125K or 175K, it really doesn't matter. You also can't look at the parts when determining what it is worth. It's the man hours at $xx.xx an hour shop rate that really starts adding up. I cannot believe how over the time budget I am on my stupid Camaro. It's all the simple little tedious things that take FOREVER!!!! |
