Yea they are cracking down on stolen scrap a lot. Around here you have to wait a week or so to get paid for any copper wire and maybe converters because people steal it so much. You also have to have a photo ID that they will make a copy of to haul to the yard at all.

Re: 50 dollar parts truck

Damn nice score defiantly not bad for 50 bones. Ya scrap prices here aren't that high either don't think you would get outta there with much more then 100-200$. You have to have a photo ID for anything over like 50$ here and they do verify vins and such as well!

Re: 50 dollar parts truck

For another $200 or so, i'd stab a junkyard motor in it sell it for $750 or so to someone, who thought that they were getting a hell of a deal!

Any way you go, you can't lose!

Scrap is going for only $.09/.lb locally here in NC, so at best $270-$300. Definitely not worth it in my book.

Re: 50 dollar parts truck

Beating on a vehicle is just stupid! It wasn't the truck's fault. Great deal though.

LOL I hold Carrie Underwood partly responsible for the demise of that truck. I think many a truck have been destroyed to the tune of that song.

Carrie Underwood took the Louisville Slugger to a red Dodge after her husband cheated on her. I guess it can happen to a Chevy as well.

Re: 50 dollar parts truck

we have huge problems with stolen metal around here, and I have yet to see any proactive enforcement. Lot of empty houses due to the economy, they go right in and cut all the copper pipe.

My first thought was Carrie Underwood too. I hate stuff like that when it makes it appear that it's ok when its targeting the guy. How about the Dixie Chicks song where they try to justify murdering a man who is guilty of abusing his wife. UMMmmm, hello, two wrongs don't make a right, especially when the second wrong is murder. And, that murder is domestic violence too. So, they're saying domestic violence is wrong, unless you're the victim then it's ok to kill the guy. Stupid!

Re: 50 dollar parts truck

I hate that a poor innocent Chevy truck paid the price, but I gotta admit, I love girls like that!:> Who doesn't have a crazy ex-girlfriend?

It's kind of unfair, because as men we are too reasonable to attack an inanimate object like that. We are instead left with only the option of sleeping with her best friend, or her sister. Hahahaha!!
