Re: A$$ end Pictures

I have the lmc without the letters but with the handle. I have a car chevrolet script emblem on the bottom left. I really like the way it looks, sorry no pic rigt now. The gate was dented when I opened the box, the body lines aren't very sharp (the skin isn't flat, looks bowed out in the middle) my factory latches worked pretty good with the stock tailgate now only the drivers side latches.

Interesting, I bought mine about 8 years ago and it seems to be plenty stout. I wonder if QC has gone down since then. I am going to have to mount it up and see if the lines are good.

I guess the first one doesn't count

You're looking for something like the second one.

Re: A$$ end Pictures

IMO, looking at your build with the wheels, i would vote on non stamped and axle dump exhaust.

That is what I am leaning towards as well. Not quite shaved (shaved the drip rail, keeping mirrors and handles, no badges but probably going to keep Chevrolet lettering up front on hood), not quite OEM. Sport bumper, hidden exhaust dumps, hidden hitch for when it needs to earn it's keep.

Hoodlum, is that the LMC gate? I have read tons about how flimsy awful they are, so I laid mine out and sto0d on it. It seemed sturdy enough...
I have no idea how you would have guessed it correctly, but yes, it is the LMC tailgate. I stand on mine all the time and even set heavy stuff on it when I am hauling stuff around.

Mine was dumped beore the axles but found it too loud. With my tank relocated to the rear and 5" drop springs they ran the exhaust under neath the axles up and then back down similar to a 66/67 chevelle. No chrome tips so the exhaust isn't noticable. I'll snap a pic of this tomorrow. Still looks clean and its quiter!

Re: A$$ end Pictures

Another picture. I fussed over this tailgate for hours. Due to a hit and run in a parking lot, I needed a new one. I didn't want a repop. Those that I've seen didn't impress me. I was able to hunt down an original locally that was repairable. I bought a stud welder for the job, and would recommend that anyone wishing to repair a tailgate do the same. The perfect tool for the job. To me an ill fitting out of alignment tailgate can make an otherwise nice truck look shoddy.
Exhaust out the back. Tucked away, and hidden as much as possible.

Re: A$$ end Pictures

Here is a shot of my exhaust...as mentioned in a earlier post the dumps were a little loud...this seems to be perfect and still loud when you mash the throttle. And IMO still keeps it clean looking.
