Re: 1965 C10 Parts For Sale

There are at least a couple of rules violations going on here.
1st is the pricing. Parts are required to have posted prices. You were informed about this and even responded to it, yet still no prices? I realize that the mention was not made by a Moderator, but it was made....

2nd is the PM thing. That is not supposed to be happening either. Save the PMs for the personal details of contact info and shipping addresses. All of the details of the sale are supposed to be "up front" and right there in the post.

Maybe a few of you should re-read the rules of buying and selling?

Re: 1965 C10 Parts For Sale

90% of how deals are done on this forum are done this way. No complaints have been made unless someone didnt PM the person in time or missed out. Just my opinion

Re: 1965 C10 Parts For Sale

That's not true. I would say 90% of the sales done here are done the correct way. Sometimes people dont know or just don't care about the rules. These types of situations are not the norm. "Didn't pm in time" is exactly why they have the no pm rule. If someone is the first to show interest but someone else also wants it rather than post "next" they'll send a pm and screw the first guy causing him to "miss out". Get it?

I agree Joe...we jut got a 60 so haven't been on the 60-66 forum until recently. We have a 68 and have spent many hours on that forum.
If you don't post prices, the moderator is pretty quick to catch it an let you know.

People sell on the board for various reasons...to help others find parts for their trucks...to help pay for their own builds...to keep useable parts from being trashed...etc. We're here to help fellow enthusiasts out . This ain't ebay!!

Most people try to keep the posts on the thread so everyone can see who's in line and what the progress is. That way nothing seems underhanded. (I'm not saying that the pm issue isn't there, but most sellers try to keep everything in the thread) Even if someone pm's you, you can put them in line and post that in the thread.

Generally the first person who is interested is given first choice, then the next person, etc. This gives the seller a chance to answer questions and get shipping quotes etc. Then the person intereted gets a chance to decide whether they want it. 'yeas' and 'nays' are posted in the thread, that way the seller and other people interested know what's happening.

Since everyone is on the board at different times, a lag (.in the time someone asks about something to the time the seller responds and the deal is made) is to be expected.

This makes it fair to everyone and keeps everything above the table. That way noone feels like they're being undercut by a pm and also keeps the seller from getting a bad rep.

Just my personal take on things..some may agree, some may not, but that's my opinion and I'm sticking to it.
