Sometimes you just gotta pass on a deal. Too much headache. I have had to pass on 1 or 2 before.

Bummer

Reminds me of a time I went 4 and a half hours to look at a $600 Jeep Cherokee. I got there and the lady said it was sold 15 minutes before I got there...

I feel your pain brother, hopefully you can find something better

Is that your truck in your avatar Denton? Mind posting a bigger pic?

I know it's off topic, but there's not much left in this one lol!

Re: what a deal on CL, someone should jump on this..

I called a few days back and decided to pass on it. Then I noticed this thread. I talked to her and she was very pushy. The truck was supposedly painted three yrs ago but they stated that it had rust in a few spots. I deciided to pass on that alone. If it has rust after 3 yrs then what will it look like in 3 more. Looks good on the surface but Houston is a big town and if it was as nice as it looks , it would have sold already.

Re: what a deal on CL, someone should jump on this..

I'd really be curious to see if someone else called that number, agreed to come get it, and gets the same "wire $500 to hold it" line!

Does anyone know if that's the same number from the previous CL ad?

Wow, now I feel bad for posting this, I had no idea it was a scam, I'm sure glad I didn't get that loan from my in-laws.

Re: what a deal on CL, someone should jump on this..

Probably not a scam . I asked where it could be seen and she told me to come on . 290 at Huffmeister(sp?) . I am familiar with that area but I did not drive over because she basically told me it had new interior, paint, etc but that it leaked oil, had rust but it was small, air doesnt work , etc. It looks nice but I do not need a $5500 project truck so I passed. I have a couple 3-4k project trucks right now . No need to add to them .I figure that the pics show a nicer truck than I would have found in person. I hope it is nice and someone here gets it . I can not figure out why she turned around a potential buyer (DENTON) but they probably sold the wheels or something and were just buying time. You can tell the pics are taken in the same driveway. She even told me that the white truck in the background was an '87.

Re: what a deal on CL, someone should jump on this..

If she said 290 and Huffmeister. I live less than 2 miles from there and drive around a lot. I have never once seen that truck around the area. I do have a friend who lives around there and can have him call tomorrow and see if she can meet up on it. Find out if it a real deal. Get pictures and everything if y'all would want that.

I live near there too. I have never seen that truck either, but I might try to look it up. Not interested at 5500. but you never know what she might actually take for it.
