that is what this whole thread is about....you dont need to use anything the aluminum slides in just like the plastic lines !!

Stainless is just a better route to go. It doesnt work harden especially like copper does... and aluminum wont rust and is a much better choice that standard steel line but it does work harden quicker and it can corrode over time unless you are using more expensive coated tubing. Plus you can polish the stainless and it is sweet~!

thanks for the info...i agree nothing looks as good as the stainless ! but for a guy on a budget the aluminum might be the way to go !

yeah im in the same boat cheby...aluminum or copper....copper fits the final product im aiming for but $$ wise polished aumuinum was on the list too....being that the entire of the rear of my truck will be exposed when i open it up i want the "holly sh**" reaction..lol...

hey you get to rub it in all the time, you at least have sheetmetal on your ride...lol right now I just have a frame.....the rear wheels are taking for ever to get done so im holding off on those, just trying to keep up with you man.

when i was routing the aluminum lines for my accuair setup I found that I could straighten the coiled tubing with a wooden dowel. Once it was straight, i then bent it. Also, use a coat hanger or other wire to mock up the bends. Then transfer the coat hanger bends to the tubing.

The aluminum tubing is soft and you may want to use a cheap bender or you risk kinking or deforming the tubing while bending.

Another plus to running metal lines are their resitance to damage from road debris. At least thats what motivated me to use aluminum.

I've used S.S. braid line and A.N. fittings before and will do them again on my current project.

Hook one end to a stable object (vice, etc) loop the other around a tool. Yank HARD to shock it into shape. Voila- straight tubing.

Yes.....being very gentle. you dont want to break the dowel off inside. I imagine a piece of aluminum or copper rod would work too.

typically, you wont have more than a 6' to 8' long run of tubing. I would use a string to get the length mocked up along the path i was going to route the tube. then cut that much tubing off the coil to that length and use the dowel to straigthen it. You can straighen one half, then go in from the other side and straigthen the other half.

Then the use the coat hanger as a guide to bend the tubing.
