Re: 71 garage find stored since 73
this has all original clamps and hoses that have the gm stamping on them except the fuel line that was replaced by them when they changed the carb to try and get it running before they found it was locked up

Re: 71 garage find stored since 73
that is exactly what i was thinking i do not care if it was 1 million miles i will probally put the 402 in it anyway so the miles would not matter then anyway. i would like to put the tilt,tach402/400 in it then get the buckets from another member and drive it who cares about miles or original parts then it would have everything perfect then in my opinion

Re: 71 garage find stored since 73
[QUOTE=VA72C10;4997266]...
I find it funny/annoying that everyone immediately bashes and tries to disprove any truck that's posted claiming low mileage. AGREED- I have a 40,XXX original car that USUALLY garaged, but spent it's life On Long Island NY so it's FAR from mint. I also have a 1990 35K Dodge cummins truck that no paint at all left on it. Yes there are 100,000 mile trucks cleaner than yours, but it's no matter. Get around this long enough and see or hear about all the restamps and clones. Thre is a lawyer in my area that advertises for helping you with your fraud case and the funny thing is I know he owned a 70 Nova car of mine that WAS a fraud! MAKE IT WHAT YOU WANT- AND ENJOY IT- Good luck and GREAT FIND!

Re: 71 garage find stored since 73
No matter if it is or isn't the real deal, you did good on that one. You can see the cheyenne emblem and lower chrome have nice color yet like a truck that hasn't seen the sun for awhile. I like the cheyenne package with a 3 on the tree!

Re: 71 garage find stored since 73
I can help you get it unlocked. I unlocked a 67 Cougar that had sat since 73 not running.
Give me a call. I private messaged you.

Re: 71 garage find stored since 73
I have to say it looks like a legitamate low miles truck to me.
The poster has a lot of evidence to show that it is period for 73. I understand where you guys are coming from with the scratches on the dash but it looks like that truck was used for storage over the years, the scratches could be from cramming things in and out of the passenger floor board for the last 40 years. It is a really well customized truck for being driven only 2 years though, well worth $2000. |

Re: 71 garage find stored since 73
I don't understand why it's so heavily corroded. Acid rain?
Regardless, I'm green with envy. Hell of a deal for $2k. |

Super nice find! Low miles or not, there is no rot on that truck. You will make out like a bandit when you sell it. Congrats!

Great find! Are the mirrors wired for heat? There have been alot of times I'd have given anything for heated mirrors!
