Re: I am Back!

Well I know all you guys want to see is the motor and guts, but all I have done so far is start ripping out the bed- wood on the way, lowered the seat- much needed, and put on a few miles before winter. I also took these pictures and thought I would share.

No shlt you are from Pgh? we should go and grab a beer sometime there at the Bottleshop. Cool rig by the way you need to post a profile pic so everyone can see it. (I checked your build thread) anyways, hope to run into you sometime. Thanks for the comp.

College? LOL, I am still paying off that mistake!

As for the seat, I just cut down the brackets. Pretty easy and you can also get some added recline if you cut the back down little more than the front. Measure twice here!!! Super comfortable now and my head isnt in the roof anymore.

Re: I am Back!

How much did you lower the seat? I assume just until the seat hits the floor? :-) I actually talked to Fritz about this awhile back. He used a newer seat though.

Yeah, Billy did a REAL nice job on that seat. I did similar on my old C-10 (the stepper) it had a newer seat and I took almost 2" out of that one. I think I did about 1 1/2" on this seat. It has a higher trans. tunnel since it is so low- it needs the clearance for the driveshaft. I have a little clearance over the tunnel- I didnt want any rubbing issues.

Re: I am Back!

Ok fellas, been a little while but I have made some progress.

First off, I ripped almost every license plate out of the bed. They were even on the rear tubs. So anyways those are out and I just got some wood in. Hell with the story, you all want pictures all the time so here goes...

IMG00309-20111109-1304 by Malibob, on Flickr
This one shows some of the plates- THEY WERE EVERYWHERE

IMG00596-20120610-1628 by Malibob, on Flickr
Here is minus some

IMG00614-20120620-1656 by Malibob, on Flickr
This is when I got the wood in. My templates are still in there too.

IMG00615-20120620-1657 by Malibob, on Flickr
Another, I wanted to keep it as tight as I could around the tubs

IMG00659-20120622-1513 by Malibob, on Flickr
Here it is with all the wood in

IMG00660-20120622-1513 by Malibob, on Flickr
And another, not much bed but thats the price to pay to get low I guess.

IMG00662-20120625-1648 by Malibob, on Flickr
Here is my homemade stain. I wanted it to look like old barn siding, I was skeptical

IMG00663-20120625-1701 by Malibob, on Flickr
And then it dried, I love it

IMG00665-20120625-1702 by Malibob, on Flickr
I think that I lucked out.

IMG00666-20120625-1706 by Malibob, on Flickr
The whole truck

Not quite done yet, I have to rip out some more tin and add some real braces, then a piano hinge. Where the knot is is where I will access the filler for the fuel cell. Then bolt everything down with some galvi bolts. I took my good ole time but I think it is finally coming together.
