Re: 1997 Chevrolet grandpa truck.

Procharger was about $5600 with taxes and shipping. The kit says 430hp, before headers exhaust and injectors. I have not dynoed it yet so I have no idea what it is actually making, could be less could be more, who knows.

Re: 1997 Chevrolet grandpa truck.

I love this build...looking for a "grandpa truck" myself...there are plenty of them out there. I found a 98 extended cab in the same color with 90K miles for a song...needs a couple of things. I've also found a white one with the camper, running boards and rain guards with 2,000 mile oil changes and 10,000 transmission flushes documented.

You can get a upgraded cfi from Westers garage, or you can get the gm injector upgrade which changes the cfi to injectors, then you can just up grade injectors like all current setups, but that route is expensive.

That sounds like a good grandpa truck, although you already have some really nice rides and another in the works it appears

Re: 1997 Chevrolet grandpa truck.

Those are some nice trucks to start with. I almost wish mine was a half ton to start with, would have had more funds for heads and a cam lol.

Re: 1997 Chevrolet grandpa truck.

Ended up striking a deal on the red one, it's a 99 with 140k miles and a real creampuff. I was just showing the wife your truck, she is on board with the look and the Eagle 225's. What are your wheel and tire specs?

Re: 1997 Chevrolet grandpa truck.

I'll look them up but you'll want a lttle more backspacing to clear the fenders better.

It was supposed to be 5/7 but starting with a 2500 was more like a 7/10 drop.

Re: 1997 Chevrolet grandpa truck.

Think I`ll post this as I do not think I have before and it might be usefull as I get alot of questions lol.Front is 20x8.5 with a 4.5 inch backspacing. rear is 20x10 with 5.5 backspacing. If your going as low as me I would recommend a 4 and 3/4 inch backspacing in the front and a 5 and 3/4 inch backspacing in the rear. Tires are 255/35/20 front,315/35/20 rear
