My birthday present!

Just got this done as a birthday gift from the wife! Freshly blasted and powdercoated. the company even picked it up and delivered it. It's like a blank canvas ready to become a work of art. Now the real fun begins!

Some updates since my last post

I am gonna post some pics of what I have been doing lately.

I cleaned, and scrubbed, and cleaned and scrubbed this crossmember. Then sanded and painted it. Not bad for a rustoleum job

Thanks, it is nice. I hardly see people from Vegas on the forum and I have only seen a couple restored C-10s here.

Re: A dental student's stress reliever

So now that Dental Boards Part I (a big test you take in dental school after the first 2 years) is out of the way I can spend a little more time in the garage. Here is some stuff I have done recently:

bought and installed new:
Grade 8 hardware for front crossmember
upper and lower control arm shafts
control arm U-bolts from ECE
2.5 inch drop spindles for CPP
ball joints
1" drop spring from CPP
KYB shocks
Shock mount support bracket from LMC
Rubber bump stops from LMC
I then greased and torqued everything

And the pics to show it:

Awesome, another dentist! Yeah i usually go out at night after the wife and kids are in bed. Just me and the truck to get my mind off of school. Only during non-test times of course. I am in my 2nd year now (until august) and going to UNLV SDM

Second year is the hardest but once you are through it. It will be smooth sailing from there. Congrats

Re: A dental student's stress reliever

The original trailing arms are in good shape so i cleaned and sanded them. I also got to use the welder to beef them up a bit. Then hit them with a few coats of paint (the pics make it look alot more glossy than it really is)

Re: A dental student's stress reliever

Out with the old and in with the new:
got new yukon 3.73 ring gears, Eaton truetrac, and all new bearings to go with it all. As can be seen from the pics this rear diff was open ended (but not for long!). Really didnt want the "one-wheel peel"

Re: A dental student's stress reliever

Holy cow I almost sh!* a brick. Last Thursday a guy in Nevada came to Idaho and bought my truck. Thought I could see the build, but its a different truck haha.

Anyways, that truck looks awesome. Can't wait for more pics of an Idaho truck getting a new make over.

Re: A dental student's stress reliever

This one took me a little while to do. Way too many rivets to remove. but in the end it's worth it right? This is a CPP crossmember
