Re: Not mine...tilt on ebay...truck or van???

I thought a van tilt was a pretty straight forward swap for our trucks??if you get one for a good price and arent worried about a 100% resto isnt it a good option?just asking since i dont want to get burned on one.

Good thread.

I have a question: were all floor shift tilts from pickups?

Re: Not mine...tilt on ebay...truck or van???

They didn't make a floor shift van in the years they put tilts in them. Only manual trans vans were 3 on the tree.

Yes there were floor shift tilts in motorhomes, although I can not say what vintage or model. (I have one but it is about 5 inches shorter overall than a truck/van tilt)

Re: Not mine...tilt on ebay...truck or van???

at 234.80 right now shipped which is a little over what I think is fair market for the column....hopefully it doesn't go up much higher. I have seen guys on here selling show quality restored true truck tilt columns for around 450 shipped....

Re: Not mine...tilt on ebay...truck or van???

Back in 1990,when I had only seen a few trucks with tilts and didn't know anything about vans having similar columns or what the differences were,I bought a beautifully detailed van tilt from Gary Terry for $300. I had no problem figuring out on my own what it took to put it in my truck,it didn't have Comfortilt on the SPID anyway,it looked good, and I was happy. I did think it was shady for him to lead me to believe it was a truck tilt. I spent over $1,000 with him that day. Two things I learned, you need to know your stuff and buyer beware. There's not a whole lot of integrity out there.
