I have used 3m auto glass urethane (part # 8609) to glue up several headliners in 67-72 trucks. Works great.

You guys that are using the trim (me too), be sure to glue the headliner up anyway. The factory did it and it will keep the trim from having to hold the weight of the headliner up there.
