Re: LT1 in a 55 2nd series w/77 camaro clip?
Hey Shane think about using this bracket instead.....looks like alot less work than alan groves design and uses all stock components. http://www.brrs.efishant.com/index.p...pper&Itemid=60

Re: LT1 in a 55 2nd series w/77 camaro clip?
Hey Guys -
I got some work done on my project 55/LT1 swap... Engine is in.. but sits really low.. It bolted right up to the factory Trans Am engine mounts, however I am most likely going to need to raise it for header clearance....thought I'd drop some pics. I need some help with the wiring harness... Question is do i get the factory harness from the 1995 Camaro modified to fit or go with a brand new one? I've been recommended to www.wiringharness.com and www.currentperformance.com (which is the company that modify's the harness).. they also reset the computer so the engine will run. Would love some feedback! Thanks! -Shane |

Re: LT1 in a 55 2nd series w/77 camaro clip?
Check out street & performance for engine harnesses. I myself will be using the stock harness &the have the ecm flashed. Also using an aftermarket harness for the truck. The ecm can get the power from that. Havent got that far, but got this info from alot of researching. My 02¢ worth.

Re: LT1 in a 55 2nd series w/77 camaro clip?
I went with a wiring harness and reflash from Howell Engine Development.
http://howellefi.com/ They were great to work with. It was not cheap (close to $700 total) but I didn't want to go with a hacked up harness. I even had the factory wiring diagram. I also wanted a longer wiring harness to hid the computer inside the cab. Here is mine... Marc

ive got the core support on the drivers side finished finally. now im goin to try and do some rust repair. allready did cab corners and one rocker panel and step. noticed that previous owner took a hammer to the firewall and messed it all up so im goin to have to replace the whole thing and make a trans tunnel. first time ive every done any body work here it is how the motor sits here is the LT1 Harness they made for me Last edited by WONKA1955; 06-15-2012 at 12:26 PM. Re: LT1 in a 55 2nd series w/77 camaro clip?
Nice thread... I'm adding an the 350 out of my 87 pickup that I put a 454 into. It's a throttle body motor so I'll end up with FI in the '57 when I'm done. I'm still cleaning the frame prepping for the '78 camaro clip and '73 Jag XJ6 rear right now. I'm a bit from drivetrain work... Keep the pics coming.. great info!

Re: LT1 in a 55 2nd series w/77 camaro clip?
Very nice pattern for firewall, that the same seat I am using except I pie cut one inch in back to lay the seat more back running the gas tank outside and had the room. If you want to recover that seat later LMC has the seat covers in cloth or vinyl and foam which is real pricey. I am just going to buy high density one inch and glue on top of old seat.
