Re: What's Your Cylinder Count??

Wow, I don't know where to start. I'm building 10 engines now, have 5 cars insured, 15 more parked, hand full of atvs, and jet skis, and 3 air compressors. Yeah, over 100

1968 C10 350CI = 8 Cylinder.

That's all that I have.

What does that say about me?

I guess I act like an 8 year old.

Re: What's Your Cylinder Count??

I’ve played this game before. I was told that the “Cylinder Index” / CI was originated by Joe Soucheray, host of Garage Logic on 1500 AM, Minneapolis-St. Paul. His system involved counting all cylinders of internal combustion engines that you own and/or are in your household, including crate motors and spare blocks, generators, chainsaws, boats, etc.... The household rule was that you could ‘claim’ the cylinders of those living in the same house as long as you divided that total by half. His decree was that an acceptable CI is equal to or greater than your age.

By that definition, and only using stuff that I own, I’m currently at 34 which is a decent margin over and above my age. I don't count the three compressors because they aren't internal combustion machines.
Suburban = 8 cylinders
Blazer = 8 cylinders
Jeep = 6 cylinders
Datsun 1 = 6 cylinders
Datsun 1 spare motor = 6 cylinders
Datsun 2 = 4 cylinders
Honda mini bike = 1 cylinder
R/C car = 1 cylinder

If I took into account all the remaining stuff in the “household” and divided it by half, we’re looking at 7 more for another car, 2 chainsaws, a boat, two lawnmowers, a weed whacker and a snowblower.

I'm feeling the V8 Cherokee.

Mine is not impressive...
93 C1500 = 8
98 Accord = 4
Ransomes mower = 1
Echo trimmer = 1
Echo chainsaw = 1

For a total of 15, less than half my age of 31. And I hardly have time to take care of the stuff I have now!

You know what's funny, is that I started out with a V8 71 C-10... and after all them other cylinders, I'm back to a 71 V8 K-10 - and if I had my druthers, I'd have a C instead of a K. Hell man, you got it all figured out early!

Talking Re: What's Your Cylinder Count??

My cylinder count? Well, that would be two. Oh, wait, that's just the revolvers...

Hmmm... 8 in the Chevy, 4 in the Jeep, 4 in the boat, 3 in mowers + weedwacker. So-- 19 it is then. That's enough.
