Scored some new floor mats, plus changed out the window regulators, the originals were a bit wallered out. After test fitting the top again, I realized that it was missing the nut plates for the visor mounts. Without them the owner would get a lapfull of water every rainfall so I cut out an access hole, then glassed in a block of wood with the nutplate screwed to it. This way when the bolt in tightened down, it pulls on both layers of fiberglass, not just the bottom. Once the blocks were glassed in, I epoxied the cut pieces back in and glassed up the area.

Last but not least, I put the top back on and mounted the rear bumper with swing outs for gas cans and the spare tire. The bumper needed alot of surgery to fit right and I wouldnt recommend dealing the the manuf, Tactical Armor Group. very bad experience with them.

I dont have the wiring diagram around but basically, its a big solenoid that is hooked up to the main battery on one side and the aux battery on the other. A small circuit board attached to the solenoid senses output from the alternator and battery voltage on both batteries. It will send charging current to the main battery first, then once it shows charged, it will charge the aux battery also. It also has a function that connects both batteries together when starting to get max voltage only if both show an acceptable charge. You can drain the aux battery with accessories like winch, stereo etc, and the main battery will stay fully charged and still allow you to start. Seems to work pretty well so far.

Sorry Evan, didn't mean to have you explain its use, I guess I should have been more clear. I have a separator and I'm not so clear on the Aux. start connection. I have a basic diagram (that I don't where I got it from as I haven't worked on the truck in almost two years), but the diagram shows a connection from the separator to the alternator and I think that is for the 3v+ connection required for the Aux. start to function. Is this where you have yours connected?

I may have missed it. but what color is that. (IE color code)

I'm looking to get my Blazer repainted and I like the look of this one.
Also where did you get the carpet (custom or was it something from ACC)?

Gary, The color is 2010 GM torch red. the carpet was from ACC, great carpet and fit very well.

Thanks for the info. Your build has given me lots of ideas on what to do to my blazer.

I am just about to buy a vintage air kit and want to do what you did with the center dash ( double din and two vents)

I noticed the standard sure-fit kit for the blazer only has 3 vents (and two defrost) did you special order/custom build the kit, or was it a swap out to a 4 vent blower?

Gary, I bought 2 extra ball vents and split the center vent hose into 2 outlets. The vintage air works great.

Gary, I made 2 of those center panels, the other was for my Daughter's C10, (look for Project Estelle in the LSX swap forum. That about used up my supply of 1/8 aluminum plate. I still have the template I made so I can make another for Project "April" that Im doing with my son. I would be happy to make another for you when I make the one for April, might be a couple of months before I get to that though.


Tom, The forum member was VA72C10, However, I dont think he's doing them anymore as I recently PM'd him about another and he said he no longer restores them.
