X2. My 72 flashes as well, but my 68 are just reflectors no wiring to them at all. I plan to run lights to them since I like the idea that they light up.

Re: 69 C-10 Front side marker- Do they Flash?
Thanks Too Much Stuff. My CST must pre-date yours since those on mine are the plain (non-deluxe) reflectors without any stainless trim or light provisions on the back. Out of curiosity do you know where your truck was made and at what point in the model year? Mine was made in Fremont (CA) in early Dec.

Re: 69 C-10 Front side marker- Do they Flash?
I've not seen any from the factory that flash. I wonder if that is a Cali thing since most of the folks responding that they do are from there?
Either way, if you want that option, it's just a matter of tying the brown wire from the right front side marker light into the dark blue wire on the right blinker light and then tying the brown wire from the left front side marker light into the light blue wire on the left blinker light (using the schematic above). If you do this, I would recommend using LED bulbs, since they will reduce the load on the electrical system. You could run wires to the rear to make the rear ones flash also, that will just take more work. On thing to consider, since the side marker bulbs are only have a single filament, you will not have lighted park lights on the side if you make this modification. I've looked for dual filament ones, but have been unable to find any that will easily fit the bulb socket. If these were available, then you could have the best of both worlds, lighted and flashing side marker lights,

Re: 69 C-10 Front side marker- Do they Flash?
Hart Rod,
no need for dual filament bulb for lighted and flashing side marker on fronts. If I remember rightly, one side marker wire to park circuit, other wire to blinker circuit instead of ground. When headlights are on, side marker uses resistance in the blinker circuit for ground and lights; when the blinker is on, you have positive to both sides of marker light and it goes off (off when the blinker lights then back on when the blinker goes off) so it blinks. When the headlights are off, turn the blinker on and the side marker uses resistance in the park circuit for ground and it blinks with the blinker. Chevy did this on the eighties pickups Did this to the son's truck a few months ago with the headlight relay upgrade, using a eighties head/marker harness, works great. Max

Re: 69 C-10 Front side marker- Do they Flash?
This is why if your going to rewire your truck Use the latest wiring harness that came with these truck Meaning. Its like the 1992 early 1993 Chevy 700R4 or 200R4 always get the newest one out cus it has the latest updates to it and more options In 1984 when the 700$r came out it had piss poor oiling and you always fried bands and overdrive and reverse would go out that why you buy the 1987--93 700R4 cus they have all the newest oiling passages and check balls.
I had to explain where i was going for wire harness From M&H Re-pop factory harness always go to the latest one 1972 more options the front light harness will cost you $155.00 for 1967-70 I'm not sure if there is a problem with the wire leath going to the blinkers in the grill sense the blinkers are in the bumper i would thing that part might still work If that dose every thing is exactly the same |

Re: 69 C-10 Front side marker- Do they Flash?
Sanford,
it didn't plug in, it was cut at the firewall; I needed to run from the headlight relays I put by the battery to the headlights, and I wanted heavier wiring for the new halogen bulbs, so I used a front harness from a later truck that should have had factory halogens that was cheap. I ran it right to left from the relays to the headlights. The bonus was the the side markers now light and blink. Max
