Re: 1972 SWB with 69 frame
This is the core support, old one and the new one. Im wanting this truck to be a 72 body with a/c, the core support had a few differences but looks like it came off of the same press. Ill have to drill a few holes, but I'm going to wait until i need those holes before I get ahead of myself. Its gonna be awhile before I need the core support.

Just gonna post some pics of the differences in the core support the 72 should be the first and the 67 is the second.

Re: 1972 SWB with 69 frame
Nice job on the build! and score on the parts, I wonder did they drill the hole in the old xmember? and did they pull something with a chain through it?
I think the rivets would work fine, but the headlight hole is slightly off, I think the older (67) headlights were a little closer together than the 72. so id make sure and measure that before you attach the raised part that the light mounts to. Theres a FAQ thread on here explaining the differences and the guy actually cut that whole section out of a bad one and welded it in a good wrong year one.

Re: 1972 SWB with 69 frame
They had a license plate light there. it was bent and cracked so i bet your right they probably pulled something with it. luckily the side rails weren't bent.
Thanks for the thread on the core support. |

Re: 1972 SWB with 69 frame
Back in business! Got my 72 out of storage and stopped by my body man. Got the inside re painted, the first paint in 98' had some runs. Its at my house, but I'm still waiting for the 6' frame to get done. Advice is appreciated! Going to need a game plan on swapping frames, front, and rear ends, and cab. I am a one man operation, some times two.
