Re: Some progress putting it back together
Looking great! Wondering why the console is so far forward? Is it the thickness of the seats?

Re: Some progress putting it back together
It is right up to where the front of the console's step up meets the floor step up. Passenger seat is fixed. Driver's seat is all the way back in photos. Transfer case shifts to all ranges and there is room between the boot and console. The console is not supposed to work with the utility buckets but it does - it is just tight. Got to have a place for my Tim Horton's coffee (for those of you not from the Northeast or Canada, Tim Horton's is the best Coffee on the planet).

Re: Some progress putting it back together
Wow! Looks great! I wish I would have went with that loop on my carpet kit.
I didn't like how low the console sat in mine, so I built a little box with a small drawer to go under it. The box is as tall as the hump from the front to rear tub. I just wanted something to rest my arm...

Re: Some progress putting it back together
Everything looks great; sure wish I was at this stage. Carpet looks like it fits well and of high quality. Where did you get it and would you recommend buying the same?

Re: Some progress putting it back together
The carpeting is from Trim Parts (GM restoration licensed manufacturer). It is excellent quality. Had thick felt type backing over all of it. Fit was pretty good. There is extra length on the back section and the front section has a little extra width. I bought a kit for my Burb from a different manufacturer a couple of years ago and it is cheap looking compared to this stuff and had no backing. My Buddy is a small seller for Trim Parts (basically for his own restoration needs) and he got me a significant discount. Stuff was definitely heavy. I would recommend it.

Re: Some progress putting it back together
Installed rear side panels. I bought these originals from Harry 6t727t2 last spring. They were outstanding.

Looking Great. I am at about the same stage with my 72 Blazer. Hopefully I will get the carpeting installed over the next couple of weeks.

Re: Some progress putting it back together
Sure, here is a picture from a couple weeks ago. I need to take a more recent picture now that the hood, emblems, and side markers are installed. Here's the link to my build thread if your interested. Love these blazers and yours is looking great and can't wait to make a little more progress on mine! Looks like we started with very similar rigs.

Thanks K5blazin.
Randy - I'm glad you didn't. I never would have beaten you to the trigger if you decided that you wanted them.

Re: Some progress putting it back together
Installed Back seat. Have worked a couple of days on the temp gauge that isn't working correctly - unsuccessful so far. Here is a photo of the back seat:

Re: Some progress putting it back together
Bought some 31X10.50X15's, painted up the wheels and had them mounted up. Rallyes are temporary until I get steelies. Today I took the front hubs apart, repacked bearings, new seals, did some underneath detailing.

Re: Some progress putting it back together
When I refurbished the hubs and bearings the exposed portion of the plastic selectors were badly faded. Found some fusion paint for plastic that was patriot blue and a good match.

Looking very nice Rick. Top notch restoration all the way around. Can you post a pic of the front wheel on with the painted hub?
