Re: 72 Daily Driver

I think this truck needs a review Its not a 1969--72 truck frame cus of the center Carrier bearing Look at it.Its the one they used from 1960--67 mabey late 68.Did he swap frames to get the ladder bar set up from a 1967 just wondering

Couldn't you use the old style bearing carrier on the 72 frame? How can you tell by looking that it's a 68 or earlier? The only difference I know of is the power steering box dimple on the driver side. Are there other differences?

He said it was hand built. Not sure it's a numbers matching build?

Wouldn't make any difference to me. But I'm not a purist. I like what the builder did with this truck. I say it's all about driving them You did say it's a daily driver? Super nice driver!

I wouldn't care what year the frame was. You see a hot woman, do you care what color her shoes are? (kidding .. )

Seriously.. whoever built this one can help me on my truck anytime. Absolutely stunning. Great job.

Re: 72 Daily Driver

I was only meaning the other carrier bearing is stronger for a daily driver the older ones have a flaw in them and they don't like torq and 1967 and below used that one that the bolts go on top of the bearing carrier the other one has a cage and it has bolts on eather side now the one that has the plates welded to it I had to do it do to how weak that carrier bearing is the other one is much stronger and a major improvement

But you haver a nice truck i'm building one now that is a long bed Cheyenne

Super purchase! enjoy, glad to see that you drive it and not let her sit and just and clean it&worry about using it! And, it doesn't matter what you paid for it if you are happy with your purchase. All the best! cheers, Pat

Re: 72 Daily Driver

Do you know what brand the tonneau bed cover is? Does the frame for it drill into the bed rails or clamp on?
