Re: Heater doesn't work

A LOT OF INFO HERE!!!!

http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=460942

I have an '86 with A/C. Hardly any vac lines. I have a line through the firewall straight to the controller (above the radio). I run that line from my carb, through the firewall. Replaced the actuators, and presto, air goes where it's supposed to.

Oh yeah, if you take the black box off (inside of cab), might as well go ahead an replace the heater core too.

Re: Heater doesn't work

so in my 94 the heater quit working one day but i reached over with my snow brush and hit the blower motor pretty hard and the heater came back on, I know its not a good fix or the right kind of truck but its worth a try

Re: Heater doesn't work

I was having issues with my heater last week, previous owner somewhere down the line decided to cut the power to the heater control and run it to the tach so the light would work...overachievers. I would have just ran a power to the fuse box. I ran a power wire to the battery and one to the blower to make sure it was working fine. It worked so I knew I had a power issue. That worked fine on my 1969 Chevy might be different on the newer trucks though

Re: Heater doesn't work

I had to bring this thread up again because it helped me out the last time. But I believe the po switched some of the vacum lines around. Does anyone have a schematic of the vacum lines coming off of the heater control switch?

Also, the flapper door that has that little white clip that usually breaks, my flapper is missing most of the rubber seal that surrounds it. I didn't see it listed as a part in LMC, does anyone know where to get it?

And finally, when I apply the brake pedal there is a clicking sound coming from the steering colum area. I can't tell for sure where, I suspect it might be something with the cruise control. Has anyone else had this occur?

Thanks,
Ken
