Re: The whole wood grain vs. cheyenne vs. cheyenne super thing..

It's kinda fun to try to "reconstruct the crime scene"... Here we have on ebay a Cheyenne that has the black trim!!! Oh no, that blows all the theories out of the water.

But judging by the door panels (i.e. non-woodgrain) it appears to be a Custom or Custom D that's been upgraded.... Elementary my dear Watson.

Ok, just kidding. VERY, VERY nice truck though, I don't care what it is) and reasonable starting bid. Of course, no idear what the reserve is....

And my apologies, clearly I have no problem with replying to myself.... If you all want me to shut up, just say so!

There does seem to be an exception to the rule with some Custom Deluxes getting woodgrain and I believe those may have all been Highlanders. I had an all original paint & trim '72 Highlander with woodgrain.
I'll play. this clears a lot of my questions up. My 72 Custom Deluxe has the lower wood grain moulding. It also has the upper moulding and the paint divider moulding under the rear window. It also has the woodgrain tailgate band and the narrow moulding below it. The truck originally came from the factoy as a single color [dark blue] option B Highlander. Could this be right, or could the lower molding and tailgate moulding been added later? The truck has been painted solid black with a black interior now. Not trying to hyjack the thread by the way! Here's a couple of pics of my SPID to help out. Joseph

Re: The whole wood grain vs. cheyenne vs. cheyenne super thing..

Not to hijack but the topic has come up in this thread about the thin lower trim on the tailgate being seen WITH the wide (CHEVROLET) tailgate band trim.

Responses in thread linked below were that the combination of having both was factory ONLY on Blazers.

So if you have both on a truck, one was added.
