Primer
After the completion of the body work it was in the booth last night for primer. At this point everything is in primer aside from the inside of the cab and the bed. Everything turned out really nice including all the door jambs. Body looks really straight and we are moving on to bed body work and pressure washing and painting/detailing the frame.

bedtime
Well the bed is out of storage and in the body shop. A lot of progress was made in day one with a new front panel and the setting in the inner fenders. The inners will be modified to fit the custom wheels. More on that coming soon.

Bed part 2
The bed is in primer and ready for block sanding as is the rest of the truck. We are going to leave it sit in primer for a while so it can do all of the shrinking it wants and not shrink up later.

Re: Project 66
After much debate and measuring we have ordered and received the rear tires for the truck. Here is a side by side comparison of what they look like next to what is on it now. Soon I plan on having the bed on it and mocking up the wheels and tires to assure fitment.

Re: Project 66
Here are a few shots of the tires mounted on the wheels and on the rear of the truck (yes I know they are on the wrong side but it is just for test fit). These are the custom built 15x12 ralley wheels from Wheel Vintiques. We set the bed on to find out the we have very minimal clearance and it almost rubs, so in other words they fit pefect! Next, I am going to pressure wash the frame and start prepping it for some chassis black.

What a beautiful truck. Love the fat tires stuffed under there, very impressive.

Re: Project 66
Well, here we go again, out of the garage and shooting for a mid spring deadline. Put her away two years ago and started another project, then bought a house and remodeled it and then moved. Back to the grind, I'll keep everyone posted.

Re: Project 66
Thanks for the compliments!!! Here are some updated pictures from today. Got some more prep work done inside, wheel tubs are cut to be wider to accommodate those "meats" and we sat the front end of the truck down 2 1/2 inches. We may drop it more but I want to see it with the bumpers etc on the truck and once it goes for a ride.

Re: Project 66
I like the color. Similar to the color on the 64 Impala SS I used to have.

Re: Project 66
out of the booth, cab is painted and frame is blacked out along with engine bay. Also started to detail the engine and touch up the block. The interior of the doors are prepped and ready to spray.
