Re: 1964 SWB Step Side Chop Top

Maybe make the back longer with a small flip up, like a spoiler? Can anybody do a Photo Shop?

Re: 1964 SWB Step Side Chop Top

I only shaved the front leading edge of my cab drip gutter, tapered up the sides at the front corner for a "fedora" sort of look to it.

That is exactly what I am thinking, if I have to do all of that welding go ahead and kick up the rear of the cab. Glad I am not the only cazy guy here on the forums

That one looks good, I will still need to round the corner to make it follow the new shape of the rear door post. I now have it pictured in my head what needs to be done, now I need to make a plan on how to achieve it and go to work. I am going to focus on finishing the cab before starting on anything other projects. Finish the metal work do the body work and get her in primer, then look at what is next.

Boy oh boy you make one change and the ripple effect can cost lots of time and money
amen to that i like this idea though i think it would look good. just my 2 cents worth.

Re: 1964 SWB Step Side Chop Top

@ flips72 thanks for your 2 cents, it will take lots of time and money but it will be a interesting journey. I am reading in several different builds on this web site and all seem to be taking on some of the owners personality and keeping me motivated.

Jimmy, thanks for stopping by today. It's always cool to meet members.

As far as your delimma on your cab, I still don't have any suggestions. Sometimes some of my visions come in the form of dreams.

Re: 1964 SWB Step Side Chop Top

nice work, just wondering, is the tabs and bars welded to the rear of the inside of the cab for a cover, if so would you happen to have any pics of it?

Re: 1964 SWB Step Side Chop Top

Will you put any sound defining or insulation between the panels? Looks good cleaned up like that.

Re: 1964 SWB Step Side Chop Top

I am glad you posted these photos.....I am not far from doing the same thing to the back of my cab, and had not considered the vertical supports you put in there.
I think I will add that to my set up as well.....

Re: 1964 SWB Step Side Chop Top

I am trying to decide if I should buy a Camaro sub-frame and clip my 62 frame or buy a 64 to 66 frame and go from there. My cab will be ready to mount on a frame soon
