Keep it stock and make it perfect, IMO. I'm all for modifying these things, but I would only do that to one that someone else has had their hands into already. An original low-mileage one like this should be kept stock and cruised, if you ask me.

i think im going to keep it all factory besides dual exhaust, i would like to put a set of cragars on possibly but id keep the original hubcaps and rims, and i also want to put a chrome sport bumper on the rear to match the front, that factory silver bumper sure stands out

oh and im thinking of pulling the motor this summer and go over it replace gaskets and repaint it as it has some paint peeling, as for my other motor i think i will just put it in my 67 for now so i can drive it until i can do an ls swap

no doubt awesome score on that 80. Im always looking...everything around here is rusted out including most of mine lol. and if you want to keep it at 35k dont drive it and leave it stock. but... if it were mine it would get a hot motor, trans and quiet exhaust and i'd drive that beauty with the old man hubcaps for the sleeper look!

custom i was lucky to find it for sure, those other two trucks are a lil worse shape wise but could make one good body out of the two, and i think im going to stick with the factroy motor, maybe put a cam in it when i take it out to go over it and put the hot motor in my 67 chev c10

Not a bad idea.

I guess the main question I would ask is; what do you plan on using the truck for?

If it is just a get around truck it makes no sense to me putting that kind of engine into it. You already have a project that you are tricking out so short of doing something similar to the 80 I would leave it stock.

Just me though.

it will just be a summer truck, i had bought it to use as a driver but id end up feeling guilty driving it in the snow, 67 will be a cruiser

I hear that. I've got 10 vehicles in my yard and we seem to keep adding to the collection. At least most of them are chevy...I have a VW baja bug and a pontiac ventura just to mix things up a bit. And my 4 car detached shop is one big storage unit right now...hoping to have a major garagle sale/clean out this year.

yes more room leads to more stuff but i wouldnt complain, i had a 1989 camaro RS factory 305 tbi 5spd car that i had to sell kind wish i still had it but i sold it my friend and he put his 414 stroker in it

Glad to hear your camaro went to a good home. I don't think I will ever sell my 83, it's my first camaro...and first running muscle car now that I think about it. This weekend I hope to be looking at (and maybe buy) an 89 RS V6 camaro. The interior is very nice (in the pics) and the body looks decent. According to the ad the engine has a hole in the block. Not too sure what thats about but I'm hoping to find out soon. The plan that been tossed around is if the engine is not savable to pull the V6 out of the 90 RS and put it in the 89. I'm going to call the guy tomorrow to set up an appointment.

I have the same car... an '89 5spd 305 RS Camaro. It's got 183K on it...awesome & reliable car...


It's cool that you would sell the truck to someone who'd preserve it...I would think you could get quite a bit of money for it...you could take that money & build exactly what you want.

I'm glad I'm so far away...keeps me from being tempted, lol.

nice car mine didnt have t tops though it had around 156,000 km

yea if i do sell the truck it wont be till summer, going to fix all the small things on it first, i think i could get a fair price, the original owner i got it from said he had several people offer him 6 grand for it not sure if thats true or not but i dont think id ask that much for it

and you not that far away you could always fly up and drive it home, quick trip lol

Thanks for the comment.. Yours looked like a nice car too! The T-tops are OK but kind of a hassle.... just more expensive weatherstripping to go bad..

I'm no expert but $6000 sounds like a pretty reasonable price for such a low-mileage truck like yours.
