What about a cab chassis truck with a delivery box by "Grummman or someone.Possibly modified by the body manufacturere for use as a way to determine trip distances for a delivery service of some sort?I don't know if you could even find info on what was available thru them.

Isn't the center of regular speedo needles orange as well, not black like this one?

Pretty cool find, even if its not original!

Could it be this was a Canadian thing? I know that Pontiac/Chevrolet kind of crossed over up there.

Re: Rare dash cluster?? Guru input needed.

Why is the high beam indicator rectangular and not a circle?

Why is the center of the speedo needle black and not orange?

Re: Rare dash cluster?? Guru input needed.

It's got to be homemade. You can tell by looking at the top cutout. That Pontiac speedo guts bolts right to the truck speedo faceplate. I'd almost bet several other GM cars of the era used the same mechanism.

Yes I agree, the top cutout looks off, Cut out in a garage perhaps. Im good with metal but its still hard to make that cut out perfect with it rolled to the inside... And I have had my GMC for 25 years and never seen anything in Canada like that. I Put my money on Homemade from other parts.

Thumbs up Re : Trip Odometer

Who cares if it's stock or homebrew ?

I'd happily pay cash money for both of those items as they'd be very useful .

Talking Re: Rare dash cluster?? Guru input needed.

I think it's cool. Just go with it and who carries if it's factory are not. That is one of a kind opition right now. Yes it could have been a proto type deal. Back then you never know what you could get.

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Re: Rare dash cluster?? Guru input needed.

So it seems that the rectangular high beam indicator was from a 67-70 speedo assembly. The 71-72s used the round indicator. I dont see how this would be homemade unless the speedo was a "blank" if that makes sense. The odometer is wider than the "trip" meter. They would of had to make both holes in the speedo and hook up the meters to work correctly. I dont know how many ordinary people could make it all work and keep it looking so factoryish. I know I couldnt Either way it is cool !!!
